Re: Sept International Break

Of course it the various FAs, FIFA and UEFA weren't so obsessed with cash we could dump international breaks completely but no let's press on with clogging up the domestic fixture list as much as possible and then blame the domestic league and cup competitions for there being too many games. :| If ...

Re: Ex Players

Does anyone remember a player called Sekou Baradji who played for us? I am pretty sure West Ham signed him on deadline day and we immediately signed him on loan. I noticed that he’s still playing but I have no recollection of watching him play for us and was just wondering if he was any good. Barel...

Re: Ex Players

Do wonder whether Richards' career will just fade into obscurity? Perhaps the dream move to Bayern could end up being the move that finished his career in reality. Probably end up in Scotland or Turkey He got a move to the Premier League then spent a whole year out with a serious injury. In any cas...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Would have been pleased with Kilkenny at the start of the window.

With the options we have now, he'd seem superfluous.

Re: BFTG Stevenage

Holmes and McIntyre feel like defensive midfielders who ended up as centre backs by accident. They are. Holmes got injured at about the age when his teammates were firming up their positions. Wasn't sure if he was going to keep playing, and it was very awkward when he returned to the team - he'd go...

Re: Where does Carroll rank in worst ever signings?

Bridge and Anton Ferdinand both looked absolutely a class above, in terms of "talent" up there with anyone in their positions for us. Issue was that Bridge's body suddenly fell apart, and Ferdinand's was already falling apart when we signed him. Les Ferdinand was much more of a disappointm...

Re: Where does Carroll rank in worst ever signings?

Then there's Emerse Fae and about 60% of the signings made by Tommy Burns. He was our record signing at the time wasn't he ... hardly played. Daniel Carrico for me would be the winner of the least recognised good signing ... how he went onto captain Sevilla after us and being judged not good enough...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Can someone please make a summary of who we signed, and whether it was permiment or a loan ? We seemed to have had some real shrewdness that belies our financial state. But ive not been able to keep up with it tbh. Agree with above about signing an experienced striker as a starter. Our academy have...

Re: BFTG Stevenage

My actual thoughts… - Abbey and Bindon are breaths of fresh air, especially Abbey. He’s quick, graceful, and bold with the ball at his feet. The Toms don’t have quite the same grace but they’ve also lost the youthful exuberance and willingness to try ambitious passes and carries after years of being...

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

If you're going to argue its not 'us' that offends, well its not 'us' that is being punished. Club and owner offends, club and owner punished. 'We' haven't lost points or been fined. Our ability to go to games is unaffected. Looking forward to the EFL announcing that due to non-payment of wages the...

Re: BFTG - Cheltenham

CountryRoyal How can people be changing their tune going from “relegation is a disaster” to “now I think it’s good” based on the back off a 1 nil, ultimately laboured, home win against arguably the worst side in the division, and it was a massive own goal.

You new here?

Re: Where does Carroll rank in worst ever signings?

Yeah, not even close.

I can understand your concern to an extent, but you’ve got to ask yourself what the alternative is - it’s probably “hoof it to Ehibhationham”.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (a)

Not much midfield options on the bench. In a 4-4-2 it’s more or less the midfield options I’d expect, a central midfielder in Wing, a wide player in Vickers, and one who can do both in Camara. The lack of a proper forward is more of a concern to me. I guess we can always try to get one of the winge...

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

Probably best fits here. Selles confirms that we cannot pay a fee in this window or January but club lawyers working on appeal regarding next summer - Cardiff managed to bring their 3 window ban down to 2 so precident there. Met Dai on Monday, Dai assured him it would be sorted within a couple of d...

Re: CONFIRMED - David Button

Always baffled by the "must be better than" crowd. How often has that been said over the last 10 years only to be completely wrong. Struggling to think of any frankly. Maybe Bacuna? Drinkwater? Even Puscas was at least an upgrade on Baldock and McNulty. Most of our big flops were always o...
