Re: Scoring on their début?

Between Harper and Hunt, there was Lita.

Was Sheffield United Gunnarsson's full debut? Fairly sure Derby (home) was Long's full debut though Derby (away) was only his second appearance.

John Halls?

Re: Back from the game - Bristol City (H)

I thought it was the opposite to last week when we played well but lost, this week we were poor but won. Ratings: Feds 7- not too many shots to save, dealt with those though Cummings 8 MOTM- the only player to play especially well. Attacked and defended well. Pearce 7- meh. Not great, not bad. Gorks...

Re: Thames Sports Investment

OOO OOO OOO!!!!! Bertrand and Siggy would be amazing buys! Plus a top CB and striker and we'd be quality nice. (in the summer if we get promoted that is). Not so sure I'd be as enthusiastic about the return of Doyle. Of course, the downside to this is that it might be bad news for McCarthy with no ...

Re: What the papers say: Hull

Oh yeah, I agree that the law could maybe do with a bit more clarification and that ideally that goal would have been disallowed, but I'd rather have too liberal a law than one that is too tight.

Re: REFWATCH: Reading v Hull City

Snowball Question. If Brady had been in front of and then passed to the previously-offside player, would that have been a legal goal?

Yes, because McLean wouldn't have been offside when it was passed to him.

Re: What the papers say: Hull

Have a look at their definition of interfering with an opponent and then decide whether the ref and his assistant made the right call. They give the example of two players running towards the ball, one in an offside position, one not, and specifically say that this is not offside and should not be ...

Rosenior and Duberry celebrating Federici's goal in front of the Cardiff fans is one of my favourite moments of Coppell's last season.

Re: Thames Sports Investment

Man Friday ...and could happen at Cheatski and Man City when the owners eventually pull the plug. They're not going to want to leave the money behind. How do you think they got rich? By being soft?

Mansour and Abramovich converted their loans in shares to get round FFP so technically aren't owed a penny.

Re: Thames Sports Investment

A quick Google of Zingarevich throws this up:

In all seriousness, Mr Z's father is "only" worth about £400m. A fair wedge, but only about as rich as Peter Coates or Marcus Evans.

Re: Back from the game - Hull

As usual, we lose, so there are absolutely no positives to take from the game. Antonio wasn't as bad as I expected based on his last few appearances, a few times his touch let him down and he nearly cost us a goal when he dwelled on the ball with the centre backs forward, but he also played a few ve...

Re: FA Youth Cup game v West Brom

Matt Partridge looked too good a footballer (excellent vision and passing etc) to be a CB but not tall enough for that role Both centre backs were good on the ball and Partridge took a good free kick. I'm not sure Partridge is too short, I think it was just that Cooper is massive and we have quite ...

Re: FA Youth Cup game v West Brom

Half time: 2 down They've had two chances and scored twice, we've had about 70% possession and created one decent chance (great save from their keeper) Defence naive (although keowns son doing well), attacking play promising unfortunately a bit lightweight in the final phase Agree with this. Tanner...

(ALF is) so different class he has decided to score the same amount of goals so far this season as Church. SCIAG, 14 Jan 2012 13:39 Case in point- Leicester. We were all moaning about Matt Mills, but their scouts clearly watched the player and determined that he was worth £5m.They've been proven right by his displays this season, which have ensured that Leicester are at the top of the bottom half of the...

Re: RUMOUR - Noel Hunt to WBA

haha that's a ridiculous rumour that you would see on goal.com never going to happen because he's not good enough. It's just laughable A little thing about a player not being good enough doesn't normally worry WBA though... More to the point, a little thing like Reading fans thinking he is not good...

Re: BUY SOME STRIKERS

You don't need need to be 6' 2" to be effective in the box if your movement is good and those delivering the crosses have the quality to see and pick out the runs. Le Fondre scored a cracking header from, I think, a Robson-Kanu cross earlier in the season (Derby?) and that's what's possible wi...
