Wycombe Royal We need a creative midfielder who can play a variety of passes

= Steve Sidwell. Currently on the fringes at Fulham. You may have heard of him.

Sidwell is not a creative midfielder. He isn't an especially good passer, either, even at this level.

Re: Andy Griffin

Friday's Legacy out goes leigertwood, in comes gunnarsson or tabb.

I think Bryn is finally past it (he could only hold off the doubters for so long), and Tabb doesn't have anything in his locker than Legs doesn't have. I'd rather give Taylor a go.

Re: Player Ratings

Feds 6- I don't feel he deserves more, he made a few good saves (as always) but still let in two goals and didn't exactly have a stormer. He wasn't particularly at fault for either, so 6 is about right. Griffin 5- allowed Mills to get forward, but was a bit rash. Looks like he hasn't recovered from ...

Re: It will come

We aren't being outplayed, we're doing things right then doing something wrong, or hitting a brick wall and not being able to break it down. Is this a piss-take or are you real? We play a team below us in the league, at home, and they have seven shots on target and we have none and you say "We...

It will come

Despite the recent poor results, this team is just a small step away from chasing (and quite possibly getting) a playoff place. We have two excellent goalkeepers for this level, a proven, experienced centre back partnered with an excellent young defender who is going to grow as the seasons goes on, ...

Re: Who calls the shots

Harpers So Solid Crew the Spurs guy was poor

Bit harsh given he didn't play.
Feds distribution lacks variety, etc etc.

Usually a fair criticism, but he rolled it out twice today.

Re: Time to consider 433??

(3-5-2) Federici Cummings Gorrks Pearce Harte/Morrison or Khumalo Mills Kebe Karacan L'Wood McAnuff HRK Manset LeFondre That's 5-5-2. A formation with wing backs is completely unworkable for us right now as it involves either dropping Kébé or asking Kébé to do a lot of defending. Neither of those i...

Re: Time to consider 433??

4-3-3 ALWAYS ends up 4-5-1 unless you are a big continental team with expensive forwards. It doesn't for Swansea, it didn't for Newcastle, it doesn't for West Brom, it doesn't for QPR, it didn't for us two years ago. Personally I think 4-3-3 is misleading if you want to play with an attacking midfi...

Re: Williams and Howard hand in transfer requests

Interesting the comment about all teams needing an advanced creative midfielder. If you look at the teams that have done well in this league in the past two seasons the vast majority have an advanced attacking (if not creative) midfielder... Re: Rumour - 2 reading players handing in transfer requests

I'd be disappointed if Howard left as we are then left with no plan B in central midfield. Taylor will be back from his loan soon. Already Back m8, plus we have Tabb and Brynjar also Jobi can play in the middle. Tabb is just Karacan but shorter, and Brynjar is just Legs but slower. McCarthy is a po...

Downes & Dillon probably ought to be in there too. I reckon McDermott will be remembered more fondly than either of them. He was Chief Scout when we assembled that incredible side, he was reserve team manager when we won the Premier Reserve League and he played a big role developing the likes o...

Re: Maccy D ?

I do question though his signings, majority over 30 I'm struggling with this "majority over 30" comment......... I'm struggling with the "majority slow" bit too. Harte is over 30 and slow. Griffin too. Morrison is slow, but not over 30. Gorkss is supposed to be slow, but isn't o...

So 2035 is 17 years after the take over of Man City?

I don't think Man City fans would worry about Mubarak leaving either, it would be like Bruce Buck leaving Chelsea.

Re: Time to drop Federici

We've dropped Khumalo, and by all accounts Gorkss is much better. I think one of Harte or Griffin should go to be replaced by Mills or Cummings to add pace to the back line and give us more of a threat going forward. Hopefully that will sort out the defence. Having said that, I think Feds has been p...

Re: Relegation battle

   No worries as yet. All I would say is that we have made 3 good signings this week; I'd like to think most STGs are satisfied with the level of reinvestment seen in the squad You've got to be kidding. Get in £12m. Spend £3m. Do me a favour. Are you SJM in disguise? 2 players out, 4...

I was pretty excited by Jay Tabb and Brian Howard, both amongst their clubs' best players.

The three this week are pretty exciting too, we have a squad with no real weaknesses now.

McCarthy; Cummings, Gorkks, Pearce, Mills; Kébe, Karacan, Legs, McAnuff; Manset, Alf
Subs: Feds, Harte, Obita, HRK, Hunt

I'm aware Alf won't play and McDermott wouldn't dream of dropping Feds or Griffin.
