Re: Weekend Football

Aside from the obviously crap officiating - that performance by Endo at 6 for Liverpool is one of the best in recent memory. Outstanding from start to finish. Calm, composed. As languid around the pitch as a short Japanese guy can ever look. He can tackle hard, too.

Re: Weekend Football

Terrific game. Another day, Liverpool win 3 or 4-1. Another day, City nick it and Doku's shot goes in off the post.

But that was a penalty. Every time. Appalling refereeing.

I'd counter the supposed usefulness of the 'scanning' stat anecdotally. 'In my playing days' I spent a lot of time looking around having no clue what was going on at all.

'pparently the 3.45pm this Sunday is a police request. Not sure how that 45 minutes makes the game that much easier to deal with.

Meaning no disrespect to good intentions, but I think there is next to zero chance that the local economy could raise anything like the money needed to make a difference at RFC even for a month, nevermind the longer term.

We're nearly there. Leicester need to win at least eight of their remaining ten games. Seven wins and they can only reach a max 105 points.

Quincy Promes is hiding in Russia, and in the short-term might avoid jail, despite being handed an 18-month prison sentence for stabbing his brother at a party. Russia won't extradite him. Promes is also now on trial for his part in a cocaine smuggling ring, and prosecutors, in his absence from the...

They have to be the worst team in PL history on watching them Yeah, I don't remember Derby being this awful. Arsenal the first team in English football league history to win three consecutive away games by five goals or more. I would imagine not many teams have lost three in a row at home by that m...

Paul, fourth official in the PL is right at the top of the tree, would we know who you were, recognise you as a league referee?

I can see why there is a struggle for Sunday league referees - increasingly a cesspit for violent behaviour and abuse.

Sutekh Shame the defensive options are so meagre and we're screwed for a striker if Kane gets crocked.

I think Watkins would chip in with a few goals if needed.

Leverkusen now 34 games unbeaten in all competitions, entering rare territory. Since the advent of European competition, Benfica hold this particular record, going undefeated in 48 matches between December 1963 and February 1965. The Bellingham goal controversy https://twitter.com/willbrazier/status/1764055196622045450?t=4NOWkzp_K8lFrPZBBYY1Yg&s=19 The whistle clearly goes as the player hits the cross. No controversy really, it wasn't a goal. Refs generally do 3 peeps on the whistle at fulltime. When is the games over, ...

I'm down on here as one of Southgate's biggest supporters, he has been phenomenal for England. But what a bunch of players we now have. And frankly if Rice, Foden, Bellingham, Saka and Kane don't all start in our first match at the Euros (and any match for which they are available), then the guy is ...

Is this the part of the season where City relentlessly swat aside all in their path? Yes. They do look a little more vulnerable to the counter attack. I think Arsenal or Liverpool would have done them today. This. No guarantee Liverpool will next week though. A Liverpool win would make it really in...

Would be very Liverpool, and arguably a good choice, to sniff around Ashworth for a bit and then poach Jason Wilcox from Southampton.

Neil Danns played his first game for Blackburn Rovers in 2002, just after Ieft university. Last night their sons Lewis and Jayden both scored for Liverpool. Lee Clark's son Bobby also played...
