Re: EFL Hearing.......and outcome.

Don't think that will wash seeing as I think it's the third instance, which was recent, which has triggered the action. The last occasion was after the disgracefully late announcement of deduction of points at the start of April? That deduction would have been earlier if we didn't try and argue it ...

Re: The squad in July

I'd group Jokull in with Dorsett. They're in a similar boat, loans to a good level last season. Dorsett has made his debut, Jokull hasn't, but that's mostly academic (unless you're Jokull).

A few triallists and a few makeweights.

Royal_jimmy I bet we haven't submitted anything in response

I understand we have submitted a response written on the back of a napkin. It is just the word “guilty”, but spelled wrong.

Re: Readings most underrated and overrated players are....

'Good enough for the Championship' is quite a wide category though. Do we mean good enough to playing in a promotion chasing side, or good enough for a team that can hang on in the league? There's a big difference between the quality of players at Leeds and Rotherham. Other than Richards, none of t...

Re: If The Worst Happens - The Phoenix Club

Reading Biscuits would probably be the most popular name because of the ties to club history. But there are three other traditional Reading Bs. Forget about beer, because Burton are the Brewers. But both Bulbs and Bricks have metaphorical resonance. Reading Builders strikes me as a progressive name ...

Re: Fin Stevens

McIntyre isn't a full back. Has traits to play there, but can't do it. He's had some really good games at left back to be fair. Against Swansea at home he had a really good game playing left wing back - up there with NGW's best games for us. I almost couldn't believe it was him because it went agai...

Re: Readings most underrated and overrated players are....

Because he came through the academy, so people assumed he was better than he was. Yeah nah, not having that. People didn't "assume" he was good, people saw that he was good. He proved his worth on the pitch. Otherwise everyone would be talking about how Tom Hateley was a good player. Our ...

Orion1871 Eric Obinna Chukwenyelu

The GOAT

Was he the one who crossed it in for the winning goal against Sheffield United, or was that Sekou Baradji?

Baradji.

Obinna didn't really do anything notable.

Re: Fans’ takeover

Only way a fan's takeover would be possible would be if we lived within our means and accepted that we would be at a disadvantage compared to the clubs who have wealthy backers. It would also require Dai to basically just call it a day, pay off any external debts and sell up for a token amount. Per...

Re: Readings most underrated and overrated players are....

I thought Leigertwood was underrated personally. Think he did a lot of the unnoticed work in our midfield, but also feel like he's been overshadowed by the likes of Sidwell, Harper, Karacan etc over the years as well, probably because he didn't didn't move higher and/or wasn't an academy product. S...

Re: Readings most underrated and overrated players are....

And on that note... Overrated: Jay Tabb. Fine player, better than Hayden Mullins, but not quite as good as Karacan, let alone Leigertwood or Guthrie. Hard working, usually professional, and able to put in a shift almost anywhere, but nothing more than that. Underrated: Tyler Blackett. One of the bes...

Re: The squad in July

I wonder if Ejaria can light up League One or if he’ll be as useless as ever. I am guessing that he must be our highest paid player now. I am prepared to give him a chance this season but he needs to bring his A game. Not sure if the club will try to cash in while he still has a year left on his co...

Snowflake Royal We'll be playing Kingsley once the usual 9 injuries have stacked up.

Revive the Kingsley-Federici strike partnership.

Re: Rumour - Tom McIntyre

Pretty good defender prevented from being recognised as a great one by: 1) constant injuries 2) lack of pace 3) being adaptable enough to keep getting played out of position at LB or DM. I think McIntyre has the attributes to be great if given a partner with complementary skills and kept injury fre...

Re: Do the people of Reading care?

It's a transient population. We don't have loads of families who have lived for generations and worked in shipbuilding/other old industries. The area is a collection of commuter belt towns; a lot of residents have their first team and will go along and watch the local team if they're playing good f...

Re: New embargo incoming

Hope it's true. Appoint administrators, find a buyer, fcuk off Dai. L2 almost certain but all I really care about is a change in ownership right now. We'd recover. When we were in the Premier League, people said “relegation won’t be so bad, we’ll win more games, use academy players, and eventually ...

Have no interest whatsoever in Reading City or Scours Lane because of certainly personalities associated with Reading City.

Club for Chelsea fans who can’t afford or aren’t allowed to go to the Bridge.

Re: Do the people of Reading care?

The club is shit at attracting supports who aren't from a White British background. We have some fans from other backgrounds (even a few who have played for the first team - Obita, McIntyre , Loader) but fewer than you'd expect. Seems to me like you only get into the club if you are brought along b...
