Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Whoever does it, if it’s any kind of suspended punishment, they need to make it clear what would trigger the full deal. In other words, would a suspended points penalty only become effective in the event of another pitch invasion, or would a failure to pay players on time or lobbing tennis balls or ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

There would be nothing worse than the club going under and all the supporters did was to lob a few hundred tennis balls onto the pitch.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Sky Sports are giving the impression that the game is delayed by a tennis ball protest! The have, however, said that the fans’ frustration is understandable.

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

BBC report once again states that we have had ten points deducted this season. They have stated this so many times, I am starting to believe it. The report has probably dropped through a wormhole from May 2024. I thought the same thing. Mind you, it is the third time in the last 3 or 4 weeks ...

Re: Ade Williams

Just before kick-off today, Adie asked what has been different at the SCL in recent games? A couple of feeble guesses from Tim Dellor, then Adie informs us that Reading have brought back multi-ball! Dellor and Gooding concur and briefly speculate whether Reading had to get special permission for thi...

Re: Tim Dellor

Twice in the last week, the BBC has reported on issues concerning RFC. The first article was regarding Dai’s £20k fine. The second was regarding the redundancies. Both articles stated that Reading FC had been deducted ten points this season . Only the second article credited any writers, Katie Waple...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If you were travelling from Burgess Hill to Reading, a helicopter would be the best method of transportation The only reason to choose to go by car would be if one didn’t own or have access to a helicopter. Darned right. I do a similar journey for every home game and nowadays two and a half hours i...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group v2.3 sponsored by Dunlop Tennis Balls

I don't think the tennis balls are intended to get a message through to Dai, surely they are more to draw the attention of the media, other clubs' supporters, the general public and the EFL?

It's an Asset of Community Value, meaning it can't be sold quickly or without warning. Kudos to STAR for applying and to RBC for granting it.

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.2

I have not trawled back through the entire thread to see if this has been addressed already, but prior to the Bolton game, I was given a more attentive frisk than I've had since the Elm Park days. What was the stewards' attitude to tennis balls in coat pockets or bags? Do we have reason to think the...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.2

It really would be good to know what Bowen, Selles and the players would like the supporters to do. Modern footballers are so separate from the supporters, that there is little chance to find out. I wonder if STAR have a route in?

Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

Given that the problem has been having the cash to pay wages and tax, it always struck me as odd that the EFL's solution was to require Reading to stump up a load more cash. A bit like fining a penniless vagrant, it solves nothing and just adds to the problem.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Apparently, there was a football related incident near the station on Saturday evening which resulted in a man in his '50s requiring medical attention. A section 35 dispersal order was issued. Not clear if the victim was from Reading, Stevenage, or an unfortunate passed by.

Re: Pre-Season Social @ The Purple Turtle

It's definitely a money thing! Until replica kits became a "thing" (late '80s?) most clubs wore plain red, blue, white or yellow for their away kits, but only when strictly required. Generally speaking, clubs would wear different shorts as a first option, such as Reading wearing blue short...
