Re: Bradford (H) - Prediction Thread

Tonight's soup is Leek & Potato.

Hopefully the cup they serve it in has a lid on it, don't want to get the end of my scalf wet, or even worse spill it whilst clapping along to Sweet Caroline.

Re: Questions about the game from Bradford fans

RoyalAuzzie I've got a question for the Bradford fans out there:

What the f*ck is a bantam :?:

Had the exact same question myself, turns out it's the chicken thing that sits on top of their badge.

Not sure if it lends itself to 'bantam weight' as in boxing? Other than that I'd never heard of it.

Re: Bradford (H) - Prediction Thread

Neither team seem comfortable dictating a match from the off, and this has the added pressure of being a quarter final, so I predict that both will probably sit back and wait for the other to trow caution to the wind, hence 0-0 half time. Second half our fitness and tiny bit of extra quality will sh...

Re: Watford (A) match thread sponsored by Taylor and John

Can the league/FA really do anything? We all know it's a weakened team, but If you look down the list: Andersen - mid-twenties, has played international football Travner - experienced, making debut for club Keown - young, but came on midweek Knight - experienced, has played at top level Cooper - has...

Re: Sweet Caroline - Blakey!

Loved 2005/06 so much but when was this the pre match music? Can remember it at Reading I think but can't have been in 05/06 as Blakey said it happened at the end of that season I may be wrong but I don't think it ever was pre-match music. My memory of it was that it was played after the game, when...

Re: Sweet Caroline - Blakey!

The only reason the club are playing this again is because we're one game away from Wembley, who insist on playing a 'team song' as part of the pre-match build up. To be fair 'Sweet Caroline' is a damn site better than 'Don't stop believing' by Journey, which we had to endure for the play-off final ...

Don't worry, we couldn't understand you either. What was that dreadful "singer" going on about before the match? Certainly no Ted Sheeran* Agreed on that, whenever Bradford sang I couldnt really make out what they were saying. And the less said about that "singer", the be...

Re: Unbelievable

On a (slightly) related note, the over reaction from the media etc about the Villa fans doing a pitch invasion is laughable. Nobody got hurt and it was a celebration rather than a riot I think running on during the game was completely unnaceptable, and probably took the edge off what should have be...

Re: 90k fine

There is absolutely no way the women's team would be fined anything like that amount for their rule breach. Tried to do some googling to find out what sort of fines have been imposed in women's football for similar offences in the past, and funnily enough the Royals have been caught before, albeit ...

Re: Nick(y) Hammond

For me Steve Clarke is a first team coach, not a manager. He doesn't need to devote his time to negotiating contracts, buying and selling, talking to agents etc. That's not where his strenghths lie, and for that reason he needs someone with Hammond's experience at the club.

That's a good point, hadn't thought about that.

In that case I'm going to do a rare thing on HobNob, and admit I don't know!

Re: Bradford away- biggest game in years...

My tickets were waiting for me on my doormat when I got back from yesterday's game. Third row from the front, which would normally be pretty pants in an away end, but given we're along the side of the pitch, and our seats are somewhere towards the middle, I can't really grumble. Plus this means I ca...

My guess is that this has something to do with being kicked out of the FA Women's Cup for fielding an ineligible player: http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/31537592

Re: Bradford away- biggest game in years...

Why do I get the feeling that we are about to bow down to Bradford and let them have the additional tickets? Even if we sell out all of our 2,000 by c.o.b tomorrow it sounds like the pressure will truly be on with them needing to make up for this monumental cock-up by squeezing the neglected season ...

Re: Games You Wish You Hadn't Missed

+1 for So'ton away 2012 Due to finances I decided I should only go to two out of three away games in a row, so I sacked off a trip to Saints to see us away at West Ham and Brighton instead. Luckily the first of those two games turned out to be a classic, but the second was a proper ropey away win, a...

Re: What's the best atmosphere you've ever experienced.....

How has the thread got this far without any mention of Brentford away in 2002? Cureton's goal, players celebrating promotion on the pitch, and probably my first taste of success as a Reading fan. I guess not having a roof meant a fair bit of the atmosphere escaped, but it was still one heck of a par...

Does anyone know if this will be pay on the gate, or is it advanced ticket sales only?
