Re: Stewarding Pathetic again

I'm not sure individual stewards give a tinker's cuss who is sitting where. But one of the ground regulations is that people sit in specified seats, and there's an external pressure coming from RBC & the SGSA (nee FLA) to ensure that this ground regulation is enforced .. or rather to demonstrate...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

And how many matchdays are there every year? Is it worth making a multi-million pound investment in transport infrastructure to meet a demand that exists less than once every two weeks? To make any kind of return on investment they'd have to charge such phenomenal prices that most people wouldn't us...

Re: Thoughts on violence and corruption in football

Poorly thought-through questions, if you don't mind me saying so..... You ask in Q1 : "Was Havelange an extraordinary individual who took bribes, or was he a true representative of an organization that is endemically corrupt?" The reality is that he is part of an organisation where the top...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

I don't know why they don't take a spur off the Basingstoke line and put a loop around Green Park using trams, this would then service the offices and they could run more trams when there is football / rugby. This would then deliver the fans closer to the stadium and avoid having them walking throu...

Silver Fox
Alexander Litvinenko No-one should get particular excited about the station when/if it ever happens.

Not even focher and Herring?

Nope. It'll just be DMUs of various shapes and sizes. No traction worth getting excited over.

Re: Football without offside

Both teams, of course, yes. So defences would stay back, and the game would flow a lot less - but there'd be lots of hoofing from one end to the other in the hope that the big attackers would get their head on it.

Re: Football without offside

Yep - a team would post a couple of big'uns up in the opposition box and punt the ball forward to them at every possible moment. So defences would respond by leaving 3 players back all the time to matrk them, and the game would become a lot less fluid and a lot more about big humping the ball forwar...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

Actually in all seriousness, given Svlad's post (which is a fair point), will the station be able to cope with capacity? Certainly on midweek games, there'll probably only be one train every half hour or something, and no doubt it'll just be a three coach thames turbo style. Given the huge numbers ...

Not only that, this thread needs to have time to put together its own set of contributors before it can be properly judged.

It's not fair to judge it on the nobbers here when it was started.

Re: Brian: The right decision?

Not even that'll be long enough. We need to wait until the careers of both NA & BMc have finished and do a retrospective review then.

Royal Biscuitman
YateleyRoyal Why have none of you utter pfucktards not mentioned Glen Little yet.

He's a winger, probably wouldn't get in the side if the manager had him to pick ......

Of course he would. He'd be up front, alongside HRK.

Re: BFTG - Leeds

Getting in the car briefly heard Dellor saying that Le Fondre was screaming "I should have started" in the dressing room. He's clearly not happy playing as a sub, should the club consider selling him in January and getting someone better suited to the system in? That's not true though. He...

TBF, though. whilst he "made it through all 90+ minutes on Wednesday" I think he did look knackered before the end. We had more players playing with knocks than available substitutes, though. I can't wait until he is fit enough to last right to the end.

Re: BFTG - Leeds

Extended-Phenotype Drenthe hasn't got himself sorted out yet, but has shown some skillz. Work in progress, never expected him to be an instant star.

'Greed, and although he does some amazing things I'd like to see him doing the simple things a bit more effectively as well, though.

Re: Stadium Expansion

Interesting link G'La. It looks like it's just a parking area behind the SE corner with some walls built and presumably some fencing to make it into a compound. In the application text it says: "In November 2012 the Premier League amended their rules relating to media access and specification ...

Badge kissing. Just about the most insincere thing in the world, because you know that those players who are kissing the badge today will be off like a shot as soon as a bigger club waves enough fivers at them.

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

The expansion plans are now in place, does this mean the station is gonna be a goer :?: Nope, it's completely unrelated to any stadium expansion plans. The station is dependent upon the resumption of the Green Park housing development. No-one should get particular excited about the station when/if ...
