Re: RUMOUR - Jensen Weir

Been recalled by Brighton who will decide if to send him out on loan again. Wonder if we may look at him again? Guess he may even play against us in the Trophy next week. What's his position? We don't need another attacking midfielder to compete with Knibbs, Elliott and Vickers. We need genuine wid...

Re: Rival Watch

I think Cheltenham will survive. One team currently between 19th and 13th will go down having looked fairly safe. I agree - if I were a betting man and assuming we get no more points deductions - massive IF under current ownership, then I would put money on both us and Cheltenham getting out of tro...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

TalkSPORT this evening - 5.41 - brilliant passionate speech from Hugh Woozencroft as to why Reading 106 are the best Championship team ever regardless of what Leicester achieve. Nice to hear a presenter / pundit talking so knowledgeably for once. If Leicester beat it this season, it may well coinci...

Re: Charlie Savage to Derby

Derby is a sideways move at best anyway. If we can keep everyone and maybe replace Ballard then I'll be happy with this window. Get to the summer in this league hopefully and get a new owner in. Would be happy to let Harlee Dean go, plenty of cover at CB. And if we could somehow bring in another CM...

Re: Charlie Savage to Derby

We haven't seen the best of him yet, he's on a 4 year deal. Silly money or reject all offers. The sort of player who with long term planning and stability could help us up the leagues. If we don't have the ownership situation resolved in the summer perhaps sell then. Also, at Derby being a sid...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

With only one clean sheet and 13 goals conceded. We’ve had to score 17 just to draw which is the equivalent 87 goals over a full league season. In addition, we’ve won 4 in 9, to put that into perspective, remember we went on a run where we won 6 in 9 games last season. We were absolutely dreadful o...

Re: Selles In

Football is rubbish, but we're getting results for now. 3rd tier football is rather poor. You wanted it so you can't moan Our football is rubbish. There's obviously more mistakes in general and teams at the bottom will clearly be poor, but most teams play better football than us imo. We're very kic...

Re: Selles In

Azeez's improvement is all end product, but that is 99% of the game for players in his position. The lower leagues are littered with fast, tricky, skillful but ultimately infuriating players who lack decision making and composure. The few who kick on have consistency and end product which he is now ...

Re: AFCON 2024

Yiadom NOT included in final Ghana squad for AFCON. Yeah good news for us, that RB position still problematic. Be nice to see Camara around the squad again. Feels he has fallen well back mind you, can’t see an obvious way back in without other injuries I think he will feature when fit. The backup f...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Selles telling Dellor that nobody is coming in in January, but that he and Bowen have no intention of selling anybody. So hopefully same squad on 1 February as today.

Re: Selles In

Managers are judged by results. This is now a sustained run of good form. Even if you remain skeptical, it would be mad timing to change the manager now (and obviously he remains in a job so long as Dai stays anyway).

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

Out of the bottom 4 on goal difference but will presumably be dropped back in on Saturday due to no game. Reading are now 4 points behind Burton, Wigan and Cambridge (17th-19th) however Exeter also have a game in hand as well as a visit from Carlisle on Saturday. Saturday's L1 fixtures are: Burton ...

Re: Selles In

Is that 4 wins, 4 draws, 1 defeat in 9? Massive improvement over a sustained period. Looked very tired and lethargic against Cheltenham and today, but it was the end of a busy period and ultimately points matter. Hope we'll look fresher after a fortnight off and keep this going.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

FT 3-2! Big win, and 8 points from 4 over Christmas. But the last 2 games leave plenty of ammunition for Selles' critics; not sure how we got a draw and win.
