Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Good interview/article here from JLow in GetReading (Yes! I know!) http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jaap-stam-questions-attitude-reading-13313290 In summary, Stam saying some of those going didn't want to wait for their opportunities with Reading, they wanted to move somewher...

Tommio I find it funny how tragic you are and how easily entertained you are.

I'm highly entertained by how easily wound up you are. It's Monday, I need cheering up, please keep going.

Re: New job for Nigel

Interesting that he's taking this on in addition to the day to day club stuff and the large amount of other activity that is going to happen in the next few years. Presumably it's a one day a month sort of job ? It would appear that his responsibilities at the club may be be reduced. According to t...

Elm Park Kid Do they not normally announce the new kit ready for the pre-season tour?

Seeing as nobody is allowed watch them this pre-season, they don't need to!

Re: "10 green Reading graduates standing on a wall"

This is just business as usual for the Academy, same as it's always been. Each year we have a crop of young players with talent and potential and each year we have to lose some because they're not quite there or there's no opening for them. Last season Kelly made it through and Watson got game time...

Re: RUMOUR: Gunter to Boro

also Obita prob wouldn't have lasted the game either. Otherwise think he would have started in place of Joey. we were a bit unlucky to be fair with so many of our players being half fit for the play offs - i.e. Obita, Joey, McCleary, Kelly... [offtopic] I met a relative of Kelly's a few weeks back ...

Re: RUMOUR: Gunter to Boro

He's already proven he was a poor captain under Adkins. I can't think of a worse candidate in our side now Williams has gone. I can't see any reason to demote McShane, and if we did I'd give it to Moore, Kermorgant, Berg or McCleary long before I gave it to Gunter . Complete lol at this. If we play...

Re: RUMOUR: Gunter to Boro

Very harsh saying he failed last year! Getting to the play offs was definitely a success from where we were and he was excellent in the final My point about faiiure is that he was part of a team that remains a Championship side that finished many points off the top. He failed in the Premier League-...

Re: Summer Ins and Outs

Having read the whole quote and not just the journo's tweet... are we sure Stam wasn't being sarcastic? "We've got a list with eight possible goalkeepers. Darlow, Neuer and Ter Stegen are on that list" I'm glad it's not just me that thought that! On goalies - we need someone who can deal ...

Re: RUMOUR: Gunter to Boro

Guessing the release clause has been removed now Not necessarily, he may want to keep it in case, say, somebody he really loathes gets appointed as manager. OR he stops getting picked every week, but the club don't want to let him go because he's useful on the bench. At the level that release claus...

Re: RUMOUR: Gunter to Boro

I'm guessing he took the train up, took one step outside the station and said "Nope" and got the train back. Doubt he wasted his time on a train. Just because he was free to talk to Boro doesn't mean he did. Or ever intended to. He's not even back from holiday yet and there's a contract, ...

Re: Jordan Nkololo

Just had a text from my Laval supporting mate, he said he's decent, and should adapt well to the English game. :o The English game at what level? He's obviously busy as he hasnt replied when i asked him, he was a bit sketchy with details to be honest. So anyway i text my Caen II supporting mate, he...
