Re: Who Will Go Down - Last 4 matches.

At this point, I'll watch the matches I can watch, wince at plays that deserve wincing, enjoy the remaining EPL action, and pray.

The biggest downer for me is that if RFC drop, being in the US, I won't get the matches on TV.

Re: Lets Get Real !!!

I know we have a new stadium  How long does it have be considered a new stadium before it becomes old? Is 10 years still considered "new"? :| Funny. I think any stadium erected post 1950's would have to be considered "new" in the English leagues. Imagine the amortization s...

Re: Todays marks

Two things stand out. 1 - Shorey most always hoofing it upfield. 2 - Hunt's finishing. Ok, three: 3 - And Marek most definitely did not deserve the red. Woeful second-half officiating. ok, four: One of the commentators was deffo pro-Reading; kind of enjoyed that. Laughed at his "Gamst Peder...w...

Re: Matejovsky slams selfish strikers

Fair play to him if he's going to score like that every week. About bloddy time too Sidwell used to crack off at least a couple each game (some hit the net, most didn't)...............Matty is a great play breaker (just like Sidders), but my only critisism of him has been his reluctance to have a s...

Re: Matejovsky slams selfish strikers

He has a point though. Doyle was the most guilty on Saturday. Desperate for a goal I guess........... Agreed, his worst effort went so far wide of the goal that it could have been mistaken for a pass to Shane Long, who also refused to pass it, instead sending it past the keeper for a goal. We'll ne...

Re: Sale of Club

Personally I wouldn't mind someone from the US (disclosure: I'm a "yank") coming-in as long as they truly loved the game and had a real interest in the club, the fans, and the community. Funds and a real interest are the key. Not sure how many of you follow US basketball but an owner the l...

Unbelievable - get well soon Fae.

I wonder if he was taking Malerone or any other preventative routine.

Hold Your Breath - Reading vs. Mancity LIVE on Setanta Xtra

Was just perusing the site looking to see if Setanta were going to show the ChelskieTV reserves match (good luck) and saw that Setanta have the Reading v. Man City match live on Xtra and same day delay on the regular channel at 10pm EDT. :D

Aliadiere and Kapo Both out for our matches

A little bit of good news - Aliadiere is definitely out now that the appeal has been dismissed and Citeh's attacking midfielder and joint scoring leader will be out for "at least a month" which means he misses our match. Maybe we'll get healthier while the rest of our "mini league&quo...

Re: ...and relax...

Psychologically speaking I think you could expect Villa to come out and win after losing to Fulham - you never want to be the team that plays a strong side who performed poorly the previous week. It's typically a revenge match. Ask Arsenal.

That said, I'm mentally prepared to the drop.

Re: Back from the game

Alan Partridge Serious LOL that John Halls is playing CM and there is no sign of Fae tonight.

Emerse Fae = the worst value for money signing in RFC history.
2nd Evers.
3rd Halford
4th Bennett
5th Halls

Actually Halford was a fine short-term investment. Like a high-risk junk bond. :P

Platypuss "The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

And you don't even need to be Einstein to work that one out, Steve.

Post of the day so far !!

Worse even is that it's the definition of insanity, not stupidity.

Re: Back from the game

I thought kitson had a complete shocker today, he looked lethargic and dis interested , lost count of times Doyle had ball and was looking foe someone and he was ambling along behind him. If Kits has given up then we are totally fecked. Villa's back 4 were just superb, doing what they had to in ord...

Re: Villa Prediction thread

Dreamt last night a Royals victory. Marek lob over the keeper in the 15th minute and Lita drives one just outside the 18yd box in the 22nd. Cisse gets an unjust red and the Royals let off allowing a scrappy goal from Reo-Coker.

We stiffen-up and hang on to the victory.

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Villa (H) LIVE on Setanta US

Great News! I was just on the Setanta site yesterday and saw that they hadn't changed the programming, leaving a bit miffed. Now I can look forward to getting-up at 515, grabbing my BIG cup of coffee and sitting on the couch for 2 hours. :D

Now if they can just win...

Re: Reality check

Obviously I'm not a real fan because I've never had a season ticket, can't make many games and didn't support us pre '95. Odd that whilst I'm such a lowly plastic I'm still backing the team and will be carrying on with my crap support even if we finish bottom and get relegated next season as well. ...

Re: Reality check

There are also a few reasons to feel good: Ingimarsson has been much better in January. He looks back to what he was last year. Cisse at the back the last two games has been a revelation. Shorey is back to playing the way he was last year. Marcus is playing out of his mind lately. And even old man ...

Great game! A very fine effort from the boys. I love the fact that Marek got some time in right away. Agreed - I was SOOOO delighted to see him on the bench and when he actually came on... That act by Coppell (and based on the lack of playing Fae) must mean he's really found himself in practi...
