Re: Why are "we" booing players keeping the ball?

Jaap's had his say http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-boss-jaap-stam-11802689 “I can understand the fans want the ball to go forward but you need to take into consideration that if you play with a certain style, for possession, then you need to be patient if the opp...

Re: Why are "we" booing players keeping the ball?

We've half-arsed this way of playing before and need to fully commit to it this time. We don't want to get into a cycle of employing someone and sacking them after three months when the new style doesn't work, then replacing them with a 'back-to-basics' style coach who plays functional football and ...

Re: Why are "we" booing players keeping the ball?

Hendo Because the majority of our fans are mongs and don't understand football/expect us to win every game at a canter like we did when they probably first started supporting us in 05/06?

Re: Michael Hector?

Was thinking about Karacan earlier, and whether he might be worth trying to get back, since I can't see him having a career at Galatasaray. Or Mariappa. However, same as with Hector, I think I'd rather see us going with fresh blood. Some reports in Turkey say he's been released but nothing overly o...

Re: Michael Hector?

I really rate him but coming back here isn't a step forward for either side. He needs to make a go of it at Chelsea, and he may be in and around the squad with their defensive troubles at the moment. If you're one of three it's reasonable to expect to be on the bench and he's got a lot of games unde...

This seems like a natural next step and a bit of a no-brainer, really.

I hope they do it.

I also thought Bridge was a class act before the injury. It was just a shame that it worked out like it did.

Re: Rumour - Rafael van der Vaart

I think people need to remember that it doesn't matter how good you are technically, if you can't get and stay match fit, you're a waste of a squad number. Teams at this level should only be paying £15k a week to players who are instant picks for the first 16 and will be expected to make 30+ appear...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

The Waitrose on the back really should be at the bottom and not above the players name. Looks awful there! http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/kit-launch-2016-17-space-stratosphere-3209318.aspx True but i doubt Waitrose would have been happy being down the bottom, especially if players ...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Seeing the full kits, I like the home one less than at first and the away one a little more. Neither's perfect but I thought the idea of launching them into space was pretty good. I don't know if they got any coverage on Sky or anything but I hope so. It's a novel idea and breaks up the tedium of mo...

Re: Reading FC not invited to the... erm... party?

This should toughen up some of the youngsters and will hopefully give them the right kind of experience of first team football. It should also help the first team as more youngsters will have the right kind of experience if they're needed. We can debate the rights and wrongs of academy teams partici...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

. Can anyone with some insight give an indication of the style/fit of the tracksuit bottoms of the training kit please? I would imagine they are fairly tight as they are tapered at the bottom and have a slim leg. I can't say for sure but I got a pair a few years ago and they are quite snug as I hav...

Re: Squad Numbers 2016/17

That's a good spot. No Kuhl either. I guess the u-21s will get given squad numbers as well but aren't considered part of the senior squad. Keown's had a squad number for a couple of years and I imagine they will be part of the full list when it's submitted to the EFL. Edit: Hendo beating me to it. J...
