Re: What do you think of our summer signings now?

it turns out that perhaps buying a load of mercenary foreigners with exotic sounding names wasn't the panacea I thought it might have been. Does that apply to Yan Kergomant We only bought one of him and anyway he's played in England for most of his career. Plus he is playing for free because he lik...

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

He was. The posts aren't in the way, neither is the net (the posts are the same width as the line so looking along the line they aren't really visible and the net is behind the line ). Players are obviously a problem! But as a Lino if you are stood on the corner flag you can see the ball in and out ...

Some shocking inclusions in what they claim is our 'most forgettable' line up.

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

Had to laugh at the commentators last night screaming at how the ball was 'clearly' out when they had no image that even gave a hope of telling. Unless you have a shot directly along the goal line it's pretty difficult to be sure and certainly the picture shown on the TV is hugely deceptive. At no p...

Re: Rumour - Deniss Rakels

As I said, the term'owners signing' doesn't mean much. Is Brian suggesting he has had no say in this deal ? He's never seen or spoken to the player and has simply been told that the guy is coming ? Or did an agent approach the Thai's, who passed the contact on to Brian who is ok with it. It seems n ...

Re: Rumour - Deniss Rakels

Interesting !
Wonder what he means ?
Presumably that means Brian doesn't want him, otherwise why even comment ? Seems a poor way to bring a player into a club....

Re: Rumour - Deniss Rakels

Just a thought, but who is more likely to spot a Latvian striker playing in Poland ? 1. A guy who has spent most of his post playing career scouting, and has just spent a couple of years heading one of the best global scouting networks in the world 2. A bunch of Thais with little football background...

Re: Rumour - Deniss Rakels

That's impressive.
Don't think I can remember a player being dismissed as a flop before we've even signed him !
I wonder if Brian might consider saving time and moving him straight on to somewhere like Cyprus.

Re: Orlando Vs Kermorgant

I would imagine a scout would have clauses in his contract preventing him from approaching players if he joined a new employer but if those players were not contracted to Arsenal they probably couldn't claim any rights to them. And to be honest I doubt many of Arsenal's serious targets would fall in...

Re: How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?

I see the team trying harder as a unit. I see more positivity from the manager, he changes things when they need changing ( although why he bothers with Piazon is beyond me ). Gunter is getting forward more, HRK is putting in a shift, and I like the way he is helping Vydra, positive reinforcement. ...

Re: RUMOUR - Paolo Hurtado

Two managers have decided he's not good/ fit/strong/intelligent/motivated enough though. So why throw in a player who isn't up to it just to 'give him a chance'. It must say a lot about Hurtado that two managers opted to play people out of position rather than pick him. As I said, players have to e...

Extended-Phenotype If you actually just swap our results with Hull, we are top of the table. Worth remembering.

But then you get a strange situation where we managed to beat ourselves

Re: Orlando Vs Kermorgant

Fair point - they've tinkered, but their people seem to be more "consultants" than doing day-to-day stuff. The player recruitment process is virtually unchanged - I'd suspect these consultant's suggest potential signings rather than say "you must sign so-and-so." Although if the...
