Re: WC2010 - as seen on TV

BBC lost the HD picture during Greece v Nigeria. The picture broke up and it seemed to be in SD for about 20 minutes but they got away with it.

Re: WC2010 - as seen on TV

ITV1 HD miss the England goal when they show an advert

The Government needs to act now to take the rights off ITV and give to BBC in time for the second half.

Re: World Cup Finals Draw

Excellent that England are drawn in Group C. I'm just booking my time off work (to watch on telly). As far as I can tell the only England game in office hours is Slovenia Wed 23 June, 15:00. All other possible quarter, semi and finals are weekend or evening.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/8300758.stm Ukraine v England was shown on MOTD last night but the deal was a secret that could not be announced by BBC until after the match. I expect it worked quite well for BBC as many ordinary viewers would have just switched on on ...

Re: 2008-2009 Fixtures In CSV Format

Warfield Have you done this for 2009-2010 fixtures? Last year's effort was much appreciated Ta Sorry, I had to give up going to Reading FC and I haven't been to a single match for a year  I tried to follow on radio and TV but couldn't maintain the level of interest. What division are we in the...

Re: What is Supply League?

Are they forced to referee by gunpoint? Is having a go at the referee a new phenomenon? Why is having a go acceptable when the Referee is just doing his job? Do Referees for amateur, youth or junior football matches deserve poor treatment from spectators? Will it ever be socially unacceptable to ha...

Re: What is Supply League?

Dirk, you are a mine of information. Thank you.

If more people appreciated what it takes for a Referee to get to even League level would they be so critical of Referees? After all that it is a certainty that the Ref will have been in charge of more than just a few matches to get that far.

Re: What is Supply League?

It's to do with referees. A supply league is one where available referees (LKevel 4 and above) fill matches in the league first, then any left over do matches in non-supply leagues. Last year the FA reorganised the feeder system and reduced the number of supply leagues from 90 to 26. Many thanks fo...

Re: Transport at Southampton away.

Last time we played Southampton away I used the park and ride. It was very congested getting to the park and ride. It didn't help that the route from the M3 went past the park & ride on the wrong side of the dual carriageway with a U turn at a roundabout. It cost to park (I thought it was free p...

The David Fishwick Stand at the Burnley ground was built with those magnificent wooden seats which were originally heated seats (where we were in 2006) but the facility is not in use.
