Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

Get in. You'd hope we see this out. We're not the fragile team we were and their form is poor.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

skipper We're battering them. How we're not 3 up I don't know.

Don't know if this is good or not. 1-0 is a dangerous lead; if we're dominant we should be finishing the game off.

I guess we're a mid table L1 side without the ruthlessness.

Going off live text, sounds like we’re playing well. Long way to go so need a 2nd.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

I suspect we may see VAR in the Championship soon enough; try to minimise ref howlers in "£100m+ games". Question is whether we'll be there, as it'll be too expensive for L1

Pepe the Horseman He'll be managing Fulham by Christmas 2025.

When will he get his turn at Watford?

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

The PL are screwing up the PSR rules with timings. The final round of fixtures kick off at 4pm on 19 May - every club should know the outcome of their season at 6pm. If Luton are half celebrating survival but know it's dependent upon the outcome of Forest's appeal, it will be the most farcical scene...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

If people are debating it, it can't have been a clear error. Compare it to Derby where even their fans were admitting we'd been mugged.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Certainly not convinced VAR would have overturned it. Could have been given but not a howler.

Re: Weekend Football

Quite funny that one key reason FFP was introduced was to try and prove that football didn't need a regulator, and all its proven is the opposite. It's farcical that clubs may not know where they stand on the final day. Luton may think they're safe but it's all pending the outcome of appeals by Fore...

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Funny how things are cyclical. We stayed up a while at the expense of clubs like Ipswich and Derby who are now in a much better place than us. But this season it looks like 3 strong L1 clubs could go up in Pompey, Derby and Bolton, so if I were a fan of Stoke, QPR, Birmingham, Huddersfield etc., who...

Re: Rival Watch

Tomorrow really has to be Cheltenham's last chance. If they can't beat an already relegated bottom side at home, they can have no hope of survival. Their next 3 are Carlisle (H), Rovers (H) and Burton (A). You'd think they need 6 or 7 from them, as their last 3 are Lincoln (H), P'Boro (H) and Steve...

Re: Rival Watch

I'd find it very surprising if we get relegated at this point so I just hope Portsmouth, Derby and Bolton go up, get rid of 3 that will just most likely be up and around the top again next season. Not saying that we should be challenging for the top but considering the recruitment we pulled off las...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

A lot of stick for Mukairu, some perhaps justified as not a lot came off for him but I do think we are a better side with him in the XI as opposed to playing Elliott or Ehib out there Natural width draws the defenders out and opens up space for the likes of Knibbs to operate between the lines where...

Re: Rival Watch

Reports suggesting Rovers played pretty well against Bolton on Saturday. Not sure how much to read into it. Teams in poor form often put in a valiant effort against the top teams and then don't turn up for the winnable fixtures.

Re: The Magic Number Thread

So theoretically, we could be safe by 5pm on Saturday. What would need to happen? From what I can see: - If we get 4 points and Burton lose on Saturday, they mathematically can't catch us (they don't play midweek). Realistically a 3 point gain on them is enough given GD. - If we get 4 points and Va...

Re: Weekend Football

Do think Liverpool are missing that cool, calm head in attack. It’s where Firmino (at his best) was so important for them as he complemented Salah and Mane so well Nunez, Diaz and Salah is clearly a very talented front three but it’s slightly too erratic and there have been too many occasions this ...

Re: Squad Watch 2024/25

Pereira is better than Button, so it's a shame he's the one with his contract up. He was decisive in the win against Northampton; that's the only game this season where a keeper has played a big winning role, whereas Button has a few key losing roles against his name. So I'd definitely try and keep ...

Re: Weekend Football

Even the best teams can't afford to miss a bucket of chances and then give away a cheap goal.
