Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

Goalkeeper Lewis Ward has been recalled from his loan at Hungerford Town. According to Hungerford Town's website " Loanee Goalkeeper Lewis Ward will return to Reading with immediate effect after a higher level club had approached Reading regarding the potential loan " Thinking out loud - ...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Bond's a strange one. They rated him last season as well from what I could gather. I'd have thought he'd been a good backup for Mannone tbh, but Stam doesnt seem to particularly like him at all Obvs he didn't do brilliantly for us, but thought he had potential. Would be a little sad to see him just...

Re: BFTG - Ramming the Rams

Apologies AXG, I not rounding on you but your post is a good starting point to pick up on Well let's hope Stam has learnt his lesson and that we see the back of that awful rubbish we were witnessing. Much more pace and players doing what their best at. More to do with key players getting up to speed...

Mannone, woahh, Mannone, woahh, he came from Italy, to play for RFC...... "When they shoot at the net and it's saved last minute, that's Mannone"  Surely a play on Copa Cabana (sic?) - "His name is Vito, Vito Mannone, If you shoot at the goal, he's in the way"...

Re: BFTG Bees

Yep, JVDB had a good game and was one of the few who weren't bullied and actually showed a surprising turn of pace. I think whoever thought he got booked got mixed up with McCleary (easy mistake to make!!!) who the ref wrongly booked in the 1st half.

Re: BFTG Bees

It was definitely Moore that was tried for the penalty and he was also blocked for the one that wasn't given. Had a perfect view of both being set in the seats to the left of the away fans. The second one would've been harsh but could Ben given as a Brentford player stepped across and to Moore out. ...

Re: Reading FC 1985/86

For the Walsall 6-0 most of the squad were ill but we had to play the game.

Those sort of losses were unusual for that team, we mostly used to soak up pressure (especially away from home) and sneak a goal or 2 up the other end.

Re: Thank you Danny Williams

If we'd sold him in the pre-season then it wouldn't have really bothered me either way, he was a bit hit and miss and didn't really fit in with the way the team was playing under Stam. But he seems to have improved as a player during this season, especially his 1st touch and general control, his eff...

Sutekh Bring back the 1960s, 70s and 80s when, outside of Division 1, all you could get was Final Score on a Saturday afternoon, Ceefax, Club Call and dubious quality local radio score updates.

Ah yes, the good old days of ceefax and the excitement of waiting for the page to refresh

Whatever formation we play we need to get someone close to Mooy who pretty much runs their game and everything seems to go through him.

Re: Are The Youngsters Being Frozen Out?

[Michail Antonio] looked like a head down lump every time I saw him play. To me he just looked nervous (but with potential) which wasn't helped by collective groans from large parts of the crowd whenever he tried something that didn't come off He was right to leave though because he was never going...

Re: BFTG - Ipswich home

It's clear the style Jaap wants to play. Most of the new signings look decent and comfortable on the ball. I thought the players pre- Jaap were the worst culprits giving the ball the away. You've got to give this style time to bed in. Both were pens for me for Reading. Ipswich one was very soft. Ge...

Re: BFTG - Preston Home

Just watched the multi-angle on the goal. Rackels was semi fouled/bundled two of their defenders over, which was handy as they were in position to block the shot if they weren't on their arses. One of the Preston players, no.14 (Grainger?), was complaining to the ref on the walk back to the centre ...

Re: BFTG - Preston Home

First half, Preston just sat back and allowed AAH to play the ball out without pressing the receiver. In the Adkins era this would have resulted in several places across the back 4 and then an aimless punt upfield and possession being lost. Instead today we moved them around and worked space to pass...

Rotherham please - thought they were the dirtiest cnuts that have visited. Wasn't it something like 5 yellows in 10 minutes? Nothing unusual from a team managed by Colin, would imagine they'll now be in a majority of people's wish list, me included. For the other 2 places, don't want Charlton to go...

No Fixed Abode I'm not the only who doesn't think Reading haven't improved under McDermott.

Re: BFTG - Rotherham

We saw why Ola John hasn't been starting up to now. As an impact sub he has been great. Yesterday he was totally anonymous in a game that cried out for an impact player. Sure it is only one game but on that evidence he will struggle to get a place in the starting XI again. HRK was clear MOM. A shin...
