Re: Credit to Coppell

Ok some will argue that it was games too late but he went up to Doncaster and a team that likes to really pass the ball, usual 5 in in midfield, Reading went up there and matched them and totally nullified them. He made the big decisions on team selection that most have craved, he left S Hunt out, ...

Re: Dave Kitson!

I just feel a tad sorry for Noel Hunt as I really don't see why he deserved to be dropped. I can only think he is exhausted and has been training poorly or something.

He seems to have slipped out of the picture.

Re: Dave Kitson!

Well done David Kitson.

I am still to be completely convinced it was the right thing to bring him back now but he scored a great goal tonight so credit where it is due and I really hope his signing will turn out to be genius.

Re: David Mooney Scores Goals - FACT

We may moan a lot but it does show our strength in depth when we can send our currently 6th ranked striker (behind Doyle, Hunt, Long, Kitson and Lita) to Norwich and he scores two in two games!!

To be fair Tabb was injured apparently.

BUT why the heck is Henry playing a MOTM performance every week at Millwall rather than playing for us in our hour of need!

Re: New Manager On Monday

For me Rogers would be the best call. He has worked at a big club in Chelsea and learned a lot along the way. I was impressed by how Watford played against us even though the 4 shots we had that night all went in. At that time Watford fans wanted his head but he persisted in training the side to pla...

Re: Back from the game - Ipswich

When is the next fans' forum? I'm getting seriously hacked off with Coppell's non-sensical team selections. Imho, Coppell, and his management team, is 100% responsible for our current problems, by poor team selection and inflexible tactics. What exactly do we do at training? Dull and uninspiring su...

Re: Coppell !! . . Has he lost it ?

Steve Coppell will go down in history as our greatest manager to date - But there is an issue with SC. He is a brilliant manager when things are going well but he does seem to lack the ability to change things when things are going badly. We have seen this on three occasions - first in 2004/5. Again...

Re: Team for Donny

We MUST bring back N. Hunt and Bikey. I really cannot understand why they have both fallen out of favour. Bringing Kitson back will probably turn out to be a big mistake because if he plays Hunt will not even get on the bench as Long is the best impact sub so I would drop Kitson. Doncaster is now a ...

Re: What did Nunt do wrong?

I have also wondered what Hunt has done to upset Mr C. Interestingly our results started to go downhill as soon as Hunt was dropped. His constant harrying of defences seemed to give Doyle more space - which he has lacked since. When Hunt was recalled for the Sheffield Wednesday we won again - coinci...

In my opinion Armstrong has looked a consistently better player than Shorey did at any point last season and is definitely my player of the season unless something dramatic happens.

Re: Shane Long

I disagree about the low standard in the Championship this season. It is not lower but different. In truth I think the standard is higher than it was in 2005/6 and much more competitive than it was that season. Literally everyone can beat everyone else on their day BUT the type of football is comple...

Re: Charlton Match Thread - Sponsored by The Good Ol' Days

I am not sure Bikey is necessarily the answer. I was suprised that Kebe was dropped tonight though; I know he has had a bit of a howler the last couple of home matches, but watching him at Plymouth my faith was restored. Blakey was fairly quiet throughout and that is just an indication of the lack ...

I can cope with the return of Kitson and Little but if SC re-signs either Sonko or Shorey I really would think he had lost his marbles!

Re: Charlton - Back From The Game...

Very poor overall again - four home games without a win!! The Players seemed to largely lack urgency until the 5 minutes of extra time. If I compare that to say the performance against Swansea earlier in the season it was like chalk and cheese. I think Steven Hunt is the main difference. That day ag...

All I will say is that I will be cheering wildly the first time Kitson scores for us.

Cannot see a downside to this as he will be desperate to score again and this should propel us to promotion!!

Armstrong has been player of the season for me - I think he is better than Shorey overall (better defensively but perhaps not quite the same threat going forwards).

Re: TARGET

Who knows how it will all pan out - but I think it could all come down to the last game against Birmingham - with us needing a draw or a win to go up. I cannot imagine what the atmosphere will be if that happens - but it will be tense and exciting and one set of fans will go home very disappointed.
