Re: Rumour - Rafael van der Vaart

For me, if it's sensible wages, then its a no brainer. Regardless of how far he's fallen he still oozes talent and I can only imagine he would be a fantastic person to have in the squad. None of our lot would have really played with someone of his caliber and he could teach so much. I think we've g...

Re: Tiger speaks to fans

I guess we're getting off topic, with the "atmosphere" discussion, but since Y25's atmosphere is so good why don't we have microphones installed nearby that can broadcast a general noise of support around the rest of the stadium. In the unlikely event of the odd swear word we probably hav...

Re: Squad Numbers 2016/17

Presumably they want the squad to have some balance. So Jules getting a number does not put him ahead of Stacey because one is a defender and the other is a winger and they are not competing for the same places But it might put him ahead of Keown, Dickie and Hyam, which would seem strange. But the ...

Re: Aaron Kuhl?

The role of jiggler in Championship sides has pretty much been abandoned now. A few teams will jiggle but most don't. Hence Kuhl going on loan to Scotland where jiggling is more part of their game.

Re: Next England Manager

This is a man who saves doomed clubs from relegation on a regular basis. Whatever he instils into those players when he joins them….it’s exactly what is missing from the England set-up. His coaching methods aren’t from your average UEFA training manual are they ??? I do not think for a minute that ...

Not sure everyone who claims inside knowledge actually has it.....

I don't have any.... LWJ. May be correct, but he equally may not be.

Re: One for the historians

And given they were our first ever games against a scratch school team they were probably actually just played on the bit of park that was available rather than any kind of 'home' ground as we know it....

Re: CONFIMRED - John Swift

If Chelsea waived their rights to compensation we may have agreed to give them first refusal on him if we decide to sell during his initial contract period, there may even be a price included.
Wouldn't give Chelsea the right to demand to buy him though !

arthurfondrelli Definitely fancy this.

Haven't done a friendly against league opposition in a while - will there be 'segregation'?

Yep, Wimbledon have a caged off area for spotty, foul mouthed , flare wielding wannabe 'ultras'

Re: Swindon Town (A) Friendly

any one who went got any thoughts on events on the pitch rather than giving the school kids the publicity they are looking for ?
Did Campi do anything to make him worth a contract ?
How did Kelly get on ?
Is Dickie a FRC ?
Is the Finn going to be No 1 No 1 ?

Re: Pre season - Swindon (A)

You being a regular in Swindon surely makes Reading a significantly better place for the rest of us.... I don't mind a bit of berating but can you at least include a bit of humour next time. I bet it's fun going to the pub with you talking about paint drying and your kids. Sorry mate, just engaging...

Re: What are your expectations for this season? (with poll)

I thought Nameless's post was a joke, to be honest. If you were seriously going to sit on the fence, surely you'd just say 4th-16th? .. You mean people make SERIOUS predictions on here ? Like, surely any of this 'I think we'll finish 9th with 57 points' stuff is just tongue in cheek? I realise some...

Re: What are your expectations for this season? (with poll)

A manager with no track record , a bunch of signings none of us have any knowledge of, a lot of unproven youngsters. As much chance of making an accurate prediction on this one as a political opinion pollster ! I'm going for 8-12th, with a 4 place margin for error either way. We may have a decent cu...
