Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

It was inevitable we'd lose that, shit ref, a team programmed to win free kicks and waste time, and an insipid Reading performance.

Just when we needed a good win with a big crowd we feebly fade into a pathetic loss against another shit team, it was Fleetwood all over again.

Re: Cross Border Cup Idea - Scottish And English Sides

I'd prefer they boot Cardiff and Swansea out of the EFL to play in their own Welsh league.

Quite how they still report to FAW despite playing in England baffles me

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

On another note - the news over the past few days - there are 2 readings into it 1. The club truly is utterly screwed and money will definitely run out in the next couple of weeks unless they can source funding or 2. This is all part of a plan to try and get some momentum going. Over the past few d...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Having read all these latest updates i think it's time i dipped in my pocket and sorted the club out till the end of the year....I've had my eye on the Purple Turtle kit all season, it's time to click buy. And i think I'll stream the last few games of the season too, so there we go, the club will b...

Re: Bristol Rovers (A) - DATE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Got an email about the new date and we have till Monday to request a refund before they issue tickets for the rearranged date. It does smack a bit of them try to get some cash in to help pay this months wages. Even though the money goes to Rovers, they'll of had it for 6 weeks.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

It just needs one buyer show some urgency and force the issue. The company I work for has done a few acquisitions in the past few years, and they generally move slowly until somebody with authority decides they want it to be done, at which point it gets done. You may not get the perfect deal, but y...

Clyde1998 What's the source of the wage bill? Different estimates from different sources will show different results..

Google.
Actually https://www.capology.com/uk/league-one/salaries/

I've no idea how accurate it is but they seem to have quotes for all major leagues.

That aligns with the what STAR said in the EFL meeting

ST noted sales in the January window are funding the Club, and that the original expectation was that this would fund to April but may now only cover up to, or part of, March

Re: Sporting Integrity

It seems to me that their sporting integrity is financial doping up to a limit. They know paying more wages gets better results and they encourage owners to gamble for that. I'm not sure how else they can run it but the current system doesn't seem too fair to me if your owner doesn't bankroll your ...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

Maybe the EFL should have the power to divert TV revenues to the tax man and/or player wages in situations such as those we've found ourselves in and then to get most clubs on board with that idea, further divert them to pay outstanding transfer fees owed to other EFL and non league clubs. Might do...

Re: Sporting Integrity

Not defending Oxford but as far I'm aware, they don't make either/or decisions regarding paying their staff and HMRC. ] :?: My question was what is this Sporting Integrity the EFL are protecting, not about our payments to HMRC. There are clubs paying wages relative to their attendences which relate...

TBH I was singing not to worry about a thing, and didn't realise it had changed for "the Ding", but I think "don't worry about Reading" works better.

Sporting Integrity

After the comments from the EFL I started wondering what they really mean by Sporting Integrity. The league has clubs with a wide range of salaries and attendences and roughly the league position reflects that . https://i.ibb.co/tpT8Dpp/Capture.jpg It looks like our wage bill is about £1m larger tha...

Snowflake Royal Our wage bill is blatantly top 10 for the division, minimum.

Yes our wage bill is probably top 5, I should have said SCMP.

Where did this story come from? https://star-reading.org/notes-from-star-meeting-with-efl-29th-february-2024 Sounds like Howe is targeting late March/April to have a new owner in. So basically, huge month ahead Some pretty grim reading there without the EFL ruling out us getting chucked out. There'...

paultheroyal Looking to go to this. Is it a doable visit etc by train?

From Reading, you'd be able to get a train to Manchester Piccadilly and transfer there to get to Horwich Parkway (train towards Blackpool). The stadium is less than half a mile from the station.

Or go via Preston instead of Manchester.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Carlisle United (a)

That was a cracking day out, and a great result we totally deserved. Absolute scenes when the goals went it, because of the shit seating there were loads of people in the aisles and most of them fell over, every time. Great atmosphere and I thought 3 little birdies sounded great - and in the concour...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Carlisle United (a)

Their fans are as deluded as the manager. https://thebuzzisback.boards.net/thread/420/reading-league-1-basketcase-fc?page=5 They seem deperate for us to go into administration and get hit with another points deduction. They don't seem to get the point the EFL penalties are based on precedent, apart...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I think this news is a likely explanation why the team started so badly on Saturday, they probably heard it shortly before. Whatever confidence they had was shattered.
