Re: Opposition fans before the game

Barcelona, sorry Brighton, really have a strangely over inflated opinion of themselves these days don't they. Looking forward to their big day out. They used to say West Ham come down quicker than the Christmas lights.....don't think Brighton will be even top six by May. Distinctly average. Our two...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

The Bourne End branch is limited to two coach operation due to the configuration of Bourne End station. The 3 car 150/0s provide 239 seats for a 3 coach unit. This gives the flexibility to strengthen weekend peak services in Devon and Cornwall, so no chance of a split. A return to full time Turbo op...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

As a former guard, let me jump in here. The Basingstoke service is in the hands of the 2 Class 150/0 3 car units. Built in 1984, these are now employed as a short to medium term, pre electrification solution for chronic rolling stock shortages. With a smart crew, station stops can be minimalised, bu...

Re: Clarke to sunderland?

Oilroyal
Libertine Someday Clarke will leave...but it will be someplace much farther up the food chain than Sunderland. And part of that process will be getting Reading to the PL to stay.

100% this.

it will take more than Clarke's management to establish RFC as a force in the Premiership. Investment is vital.

With the resources at his disposal, Steve Clarke could do a job at
Anfield, now that he is not going to Sunderland.

Re: Is Vydra the missing link?

No doubt that he's an excellent player, probably the best we've had since Gylfi left (assuming he maintains these performance levels better than Drenthe did) but I don't think he made the difference on Friday. We would still have won comfortably with Robson-Kanu on the left. The big difference was ...

Sutekh Tiny little village near Stroud and have been known as Stroud in their past. Love to see them make it into the league. Quite probably would be the smallest place to support a football club in league history.

Officially a town with a population of c7500, part of Stroud District pop 112,000

We would still need another forward tho, unless HRK is going to be played in the strikers role

I don't even know what that means - who or what is Bradshaw?

howser Most likely would be Shorey cheap buy to England international, was a good gamble that one. For the level we were playing at the time Colin Meldrum was pretty useful.

You beat me to it there. Meldrum was a solid performer, always gave 100% and was club captain IIRC

Re: Who do we consider our rivals?

This topic has been done to death. Nevertheless, in the interest of I am not sure what... IMO, it's a fluid concept and the age of the supporter has much to do with perceived competition. Back in the 60s, the only rivals worthy of the name were Swindon. Brentford see-sawed between lower divisions an...
