Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

One of W*nkcombe's top boys is out in force replying to any Reading fan who replies https://x.com/Howardj83255258?t=s8epFSpwAF99e4pDpjRXPA&s=09 Looks a dodgy fella I try not to be cruel. Please shut the oxf*rd up. You’re making Reading fans look like utter dickheads. We can’t afford to go aroun...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Palmer Park is difficult because of the leisure centre and adjoining football pitches and the car park being tiddily. I'm also not sure whether the internal dimensions support a football pitch. But yes that's the best option if it does come to that.

Re: The phoenix club thread

St Pauli It’s a bit of a weird record anyway, given that it’s been beaten in lower leagues.

Lower leagues don't count. Neither do higher leagues.

If Usain Bolt runs 100m in 9.67 seconds in the Olympics, good for him, but he doesn't hold the Waingels Year 9 100m record.

Re: Ex Players

That's a bizarre overreaction to a minimal comment about an ex player. I have never called for him to be "cancelled" (not that he has a public facing role that would make that even feasible) nor did I even state anything particularly negative about him. He's entitled to his views, as ill ...

Re: Wycombe will be culpable.

Well, might Wycombe also be interested in buying a decent local-ish stadium close to a major motorway at a bargain price too? Adams Park is small capacity and difficult to access and so is limiting for a club with ambitions to rise up the leagues. Maybe the phoenix club can pick both the stadium an...

Re: The phoenix club thread

I do have money set aside for this, but when we finally get dissolved I honestly won’t have any appetite left for football whatsoever. I will have over 50 years of memories some great and some not so good and that’ll be enough for me. If I watch any sport it’ll probably be the Royal Wootton Bassett...

Lawson D'Ath (who never actually played for us, but was a youth player for four or five years, is playing for Banbury United... scored 2 goals this season, which is his second highest tally at a club with Northampton and his 11 goals there being the most. Scored one goal for each club he played for...

I take it that's a level higher than what he was playing at. Good luck to him. Beaconsfield - Southern League Premier Division South Dover Athletic - National League South How does it compare to the Combined Counties? Combined Counties Premier is ninth tier (non-league step 5). It's home to Reading...

Our £1m Lita signing was very unusual in being a Championship signing not funded by a larger sale. Some transfers of top-end Championship players the following summer or shortly after: Joleon Lescott - £4m Matthew Kilgallon - £2m Madjid Bougherra - £2.5m Claude Davis - £3m Danny Shittu - £1.6m Greg ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

Actually thought Mola was MOTM before that moment of madness. Looked much more committed defensively than I’d seen him before and got forward effectively. Pretty uninspiring stuff - good intensity at the start of the second half but then we faded. Thought Craig did better than Wing but understandabl...

Was thinking about the players in recent years we’ve lost before they could make an impact. Thierry Nevers is one of them. The real magic number is 3. - number of points we get for a win - shirt number of arguably our longest serving current player - sides to a triangle - world record number of goals scored in one match - members of De La Soul - number of seats the Tories are projected to win at the next election - numb...

Re: Who do you consider to be a rival?

I "academically" consider Oxford, Swindon, and Aldershot our rivals, but there's no venom there.

I have much more hatred for West Ham (both for Pardew and because of their Allardyce-era thuggery), Cardiff, and anyone associated with Neil Warnock.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

How does that compare to previous years? Is this year an anomaly? What are the reasons behind it? Are the Cat 1 clubs playing their strongest U18 sides, or are their better players playing up an age group so aren't being considered for the Youth Cup especially the early rounds? Not sure one season ...

Re: liam moore to return till end of the season

There were also rumours ( I believe on this forum) of a racism incident at the club at the time where Moore as captain didn't back the club's handling of it. I thought the issue was that he didn't back the player. Might've got that wrong though. If he’d backed the club and not the player, it would’...

Has Basil Tuma been injured or sent on loan that I've missed. Was a bit surprised to see Wareham leapfrog him in the pecking order. Wareham is a proper traditional goalscorer, and pretty good at it (probably the best penalty box player we've had at youth level since Liburd, who was well into his 20...

The PL Everton decision is going to be very interesting. Feels like the local MPs, Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram and Everton-supporting Manchester mayor Andy Burnham are desperately trying to sway the outcome. Does rather shine a dim light on what our locally elected bods are doing for us. Has Alo...

Re: liam moore to return till end of the season

When the financial problems started to bite two years ago, Moore privately told the club that he wouldn't refuse a transfer if it would help. They responded by publicly stripping him of the captaincy. Don't think it's fair to characterise Moore as happily sat on the bench. If you're going to find fa...
