Kevin Watson

Watto has been appointed to his first managerial role. He takes over at Malden and Tiptree with effect from today. Would like to wish him the very best of luck with it. He was a good servant to Reading and a thoroughly nice guy. http://www.gazette-news.co.uk/sport/12958826.Watson_named_as_new_Maldon...

Re: Summer Rebuild

What if he has another two years without making appearances in the double figures? Yes, it's sad, but they have to be cautious. They could have written a contract stating a second year if he made X appearances in the first After the Salako situation a few years ago, I don't think any player would s...

Re: Semi final tickets?

Phones are no better. I called in at 10 am and got connected - great I thought, then after 14 minutes, the system just cut me off and now (obviously) I cant get reconnected. They should have subbed it out to Ticletmaster or similar who have the capacity to deal with this sort of demand. Alternative...

BFTG Middlesborough

Radio Berks pundits saying it was a great match. Not sure I agree. Boro will feel unlucky not to take all 3 points. They looked comfortable for the whole game and we looked on the back foot. Feds definitely man of the match which says we were fortunate really but well done anyway Feds. I can't see w...

Re: Steve Clarke

Think this is as good an appointment as we could have made. Has studied under one of the best managers in recent history, but has shown the ability to build a team from a squad or "normal" players. I had the impression Adkins had lost the dressing room towards the end so a new manager may ...

Re: Re-poll: Next Manager

Clark is 1/6 favourite on Sky Bet. Haven't seen those type of odds since about an hour before it was announced Brian was getting the sack. Presume he will have contacts at Chelsea so maybe some loanees? No one would have to relocate to come on loan with us. Petr Cech anyone...? He loves Reading........

Re: Poll - Adkins In or Out

Out.

I supported his appointment but now I think he isn't capable of getting this team to win games they should be winning.

Sorry Nige and thanks for trying.

Re: Who do you want?

If we don't win one of this weeks games (Rotherham or Charlton), I think its time for a change. We have a big squad (OS shows 38) of talented players and Adkins has had plenty of time to assess them and he has also added 4 players of his choosing in the summer. The issue must be team selection and t...

Re: Watershed.

Federici can kick a ball a long way with reasonable accuracy. I suggest quick release from Feds into either channel. McLeary, Mackie or Obita are all capable of beating a defender and putting in a cross aimed at Murray who can either attack or knock down for Cox to shoot. So our strengths are probab...

Re: Watershed.

Was thinking the same thing. The results are going backwards. We had this with Brendan. Clearly Brendan is a good manager provided he has he players capable of winning games in the style he wants. Adkins aspires to the same but the strengths of our team don't appear to gel with Adkins game plan and ...

Re: Who do you want?

Alan Pardew could be available on a free quite soon.

Other posters have commented that the Southampton side that won back to back promotions was assembled by Pardew, not Adkins.

Plus, he might feel he owe's us one and has something to prove.

... or not.....................

Dave Kitson - not TSF (probably)

Just found myself stood next to Dave in a shop queue in Windsor so took the opportunity to ask after how things were post football. He's says not doing much so I asked if he was writing ? "No, why do you ask?" He says. I told him a lot of us thought he was The Secret Footballer and he laug...

Re: Dave Kitson retires...

Quite possibly my favourite ever Reading player. We have had better centre forwards but Kitson got there through hard work and never giving up, he was a 'man of the people' and folk loved him for it. He was the opposite to your Guthrie's and Lita's, he didn't strut around like the world owed him a ...

Dave Kitson retires...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28419253 I will always think fondly of Dave. He played his best football at Reading in what is really our best ever team to date. He spoke his mind and didnt care who it might upset. He hinted on Soccer AM that he turned down a bigger money move between 06 and 0...
