Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

AthleticoSpizz The “Royalcop” name has oft intrigued me tho’….copper?, Royal?, Royal protection?…another DD sign-on?

I need to change the name! Was in the Met for 10 years but moved on in 2015 (entirely by choice, I should probably add).

Re: Freebies

Only because I was reading an article about players we could sign who are out of contract and because he knows Hutchinson would Saido Berahino be worth a punt? I probably would just for a year. Saw him play for Weds against Wycombe in May; he was totally anonymous and hooked early in the second hal...

SCIAG He took two difficult A-Levels (Physics and Maths, I think) and his dad is a professor of engineering at Imperial College.

If Holmes’ nickname in the dressing room isn’t the professor or prof, then quite frankly what’s the point of anything?

Re: 2006 v 2012 21st May

I was in two minds whether to go to this or go to the L1 play off final but I definitely made the right decision. What a brilliant day, met Hunty, Kebe, Curo by the car park then the two managers and captains in the megastore - all seemed delighted to be back and I think quite touched by the numbers...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

The obvious replacement for me is Ainsworth, but Wycombe are still involved in battle. He is going nowhere. Unless WWFC don't get promoted and we can last with a caretaker til the end of the season. Rotherham bought Colin in to save them...and did. Not gonna happen though. Farke is the one I like, ...

Re: Best player you've ever seen play against us

Surprised Scott Sinclair in the Swansea play off final hasn’t had a mention yet, destroyed us single-handedly (or that’s my memory). Concur with Henry, ridiculously good when at his peak. Vivid memories of the United side of 96, especially the speed of Giggs and being amazed how good even their less...

Watched the play off final and didn’t think Dickie looked anything special, would rather go for Anthony Stewart who was immense for Wycombe.

Re: Bowen Out.

genome Who's out there worth getting?

Gareth Ainsworth, assuming Wycombe don't get promoted this season. Also think Parky could do well here, he's turned Sunderland round after a slow start.

Hendo Does the cost of being a mascot not include the kit anymore?

Sadly not.

Wanted (to buy or loan) - 2019/20 goalkeeper kit for 10 year old mascot

My son, age 10, is due to be a mascot at an upcoming game and needs a full goalie kit but unfortunately his size is sold out at the stadium and online. Does anyone on here have access to a full goalie kit that I could either buy or borrow?

Many thanks

Re: BFTG - Charlton

Was in the ED stand so had the opportunity to see his performance fairly closely second half. Was very surprised he wasn’t subbed. Gomes decided to go for a more unconventional approach instead. Which totally fcuked us. Absolutely this. I saw Boyé and Meité getting ready to come on and assumed it w...

Re: BFTG - Wycombe Away

I don’t think there’s any harm trying things in a game like that, thought Rino did well at RWB. Was less impressed with Richards on the other side who was lightweight and gave the ball away cheaply too many times.

Re: BFTG - Wycombe Away

That’s a very good write up. It was a frustrating game in many ways, we controlled the first half but couldn’t find a finish then a sloppy goal to concede after HT but couldn’t fault the reaction to it and some nerveless penalties. All the new signings looked decent, Puscas will definitely be a crow...

Still not quite sure how we won that game but three points is three points and a great team effort overall. Aluko's goal must be up there with the best ever scored at the Madjeski, certainly for individual goals. I really thought once that had gone in we would go on and make it an easy win but we se...

Re: BFT £&*@!! - Burton

Our players look scared to take any risks when in possession - always looking for the safe, usually backward pass - and I place the blame for that entirely at Stam's door. I simply don't believe a more direct-minded manager wouldn't get more out of this team, and more excitement with it.

Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

I would grudgingly take Pardew back - his direct style is probably what we need to get us up the table at the minute. Though I expect he'd be off at the first sign of interest from a bigger club, the judas oxford.

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Apologies if he's already been mentioned, but what's Nathaniel Chalobah's situation? He did well for us on loan a few seasons back and doesn't seem to be any closer to the Chelsea first team. Could be a good Williams replacement but I guess WCBAP - he was rumoured to be earning 35k a week from Chels...

Re: Youngsters debuts

Remember seeing Steven Gerrard make his England Under 21 debut (at the Mad Stad) and thinking he was going to be an amazing player.

I don't think it was his debut but Jake Cooper was awesome against Everton (and Lukaku in particular) in the League Cup earlier this season.
