That’s a very good write up. It was a frustrating game in many ways, we controlled the first half but couldn’t find a finish then a sloppy goal to concede after HT but couldn’t fault the reaction to it and some nerveless penalties. Our players look scared to take any risks when in possession - always looking for the safe, usually backward pass - and I place the blame for that entirely at Stam's door. I simply don't believe a more direct-minded manager wouldn't get more out of this team, and more excitement with it.

I would grudgingly take Pardew back - his direct style is probably what we need to get us up the table at the minute. Though I expect he'd be off at the first sign of interest from a bigger club, the judas oxford.

I don't think it was his debut but Jake Cooper was awesome against Everton (and Lukaku in particular) in the League Cup earlier this season.
