Re: BFTG - Fulham

To paraphrase Dr H earlier in another thread: If, after almost 200 minutes of football, you're having to cling to a zoomed-in freeze frame then you probably just haven't played well enough. FWIW I thought Atkinson had a very good game last night and also that it was a penalty (albeit a tough one to ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

To run on the pitch after getting to the play off final is in my view embarrassing agreed tbf Everyone does it though these days. I love pitch invasions but of the spontaneous "we've won something" type rather than a "yes! we get to pay £100 to watch us lose yet another play-off fina...

Re: BFTG - Fulham

Wonderful night, the sort that lives with you forever My MOM would be Ilori. Barely played all season and slotted in to a high pressure game like he was an ever present. Barely put a foot wrong all game Had a little dodgy spell towards the end of the first half, but other than that, yeah I'd agree ...

Re: BFTG - Fulham

Very dogged, gutsy performance with Fulham pushing so many men forward for the last half hour it was basically attack v defence. Can't remember a game where i've been that tense for so long but the relative lack of clear chances for Fulham tells you all you need to know about the resilience. What an...

double d
Maguire Ryan Sessgnon in the Championship team of the season? Bet he's not even started half their games.

He is awesome though.

The 1 in 3 games he actually starts? I'd have voted for someone who didn't spend most of the season on the bench.

Have to agree with a lot of this thread: 1) Spurs deserve credit for their efforts this season and I've enjoyed [as a neutral] watching them play. Some of the best English talent around in that team as well. 2) Absolute :farrell: at the fuss being made about moving from WHL when you can see the new ...

Re: Tinpot

Never knew that. It seems these days trophies are dished around like confetti. Still think its embarrassing and sad to parade around with a "second best" trophy. I don't see any issue. Brighton have for the first time in their history been promoted into the top tier. Rightly they wanted t...

Re: Tinpot

Whats does "tinpot" mean? I know it's the word of choice for teenage football fans on t'internet but what does it mean? Luckily the good folk over at owlstalk kindly outlined the very definition for all of us unfortunate enough to support an also ran team. Has to be said I don't know why ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

The atmosphere things is so zzzzzzzz. All I heard from Fulham was clappers, that was literally it until they scored. No songs, no atmosphere, nothing. When will people realise it only sounds loud if you're in it?

Re: BFTG Fulham

The game was a draw but I think it was a tactical triumph for Stam. Set us up perfectly and I thought we did a great job of containing them. Obita played really well and the excellent goal makes him my MOTM Williams was close behind with his non-stop work. McShane was unlucky with the red in the sen...

Re: Fulham prediction thread

Fulham 3-0 Reading

Reading 1-1 Fulham

Our full-backs will be exposed by the pace of Fulham's forward men, particularly Gunter. I predict at least one goal from a low ball across after going past a FB.

Re: Loan players

Matt Upson is the best loan player I can remember seeing. Bit of a slow start (lost away at Cambridge IIRC) but once he got fit he was absolutely imperious.

Often seems to take loans a while to get up to speed, presumably as they're not match fit/sharp (Leigertwood another good case study).

Re: BFTG - Rov'rum

Not been to a whole lot of games this season but I enjoyed yesterday. Very flat first half but much more dynamic after HT and deserved the win. - Meite isn't very good - I like Swift as a player but he had a shocker until he scored - Kelly was excellent, very continental in the way he keeps the ball...

semtex1871 FDTW has form with disablists and so would probably want some kind of payout, free transport etc etc

I generally think the internet is fair game but personally I'd draw the line at going after a guy with disabled children in case it made me look like, you know, a massive cunt

Seeing loads of comments about the st8 of the buses/traffic/etc. I read the warning on Twitter by the club about getting there early, so I got a bus from town that got me to the stadium for 7, without a hitch. I stayed to the final whistle and got back to the buses without rushing, waited no longer...

Can't believe anyone is arguing that both incidents - if spotted - should not have been red cards.

Both dirty pieces of play, both deserve a ban.

Re: Best wishes Bobby Convey

That goal against Millwall (in fact he also scored a free-kick in the same game) was the beginning for Bobby at Reading. We'd had him all the previous season but he'd looked lightweight and inconsistent. Came back after the summer in 2005 and just looked so much better, going on to play a huge role ...
