Re: Multi-Faith Prayer Area

Mid season would be quite an odd time to break for Ramadam. You're getting confused with Christmas I suspect. Ramadam varies with the Lunar cycle so can fall at any time of the season. Yep, hence it being odd to try and break mid season for it...... If you stopped and thought you'd avoid these mist...

Re: Worst Keeper

harry I seem to recall a game away to Wycombe in about '98 and the away end singing "dodgy keeper" and the keeper being subbed. I thought it was Peter Van Der Kwaak but it may have been Scott Howie.

Howie was the one....

Re: Multi-Faith Prayer Area

I think Boca Juniors in Argentina has a special fan's cemetery on the site of their stadium. The Madejski Stadium could well benefit from this allowing us to be "Reading till we die, and beyond". A multi-faith chapel of rest could be set up. Could double as prayer area on matchdays. No mi...

Interesting that you've never been non Dom except for tax purposes. Surely the whole point of being a non Dom is tax related ! Make your mind up ! Please don't miss quote me, I said I have been NON Resident in the UK only for income tax purposes, but have always remained DOMICILE in the UK, meaning...

Re: Chelsea U21 vs Reading U21: Fri 25th Sept, 7.05pm

I believe clubs must play a proportion of their U21 games at their main home venue. I would guess the ticketing arrangements are purely about saving money. Minimal staff needed, no ticket office, no cash handling. Seems a bit petty for a club who aren't short of a few quid. Fair play to Reading for ...

Re: Multi-Faith Prayer Area

Bit worrying that complexities of world religion are finding a home under Club Policies. We'd be better off sorting the parking out and calming Orlando down.

It's 3 first team games isn't it ? Not competition specific.
It's only European games where bans are specific to the competition I think.

Re: PA announcer

Coppelled_Streets This thread makes me glad I don't go any more. I hate the whole 'match day experience'. Away games only for me these days.

Odd, given it's the same at most away grounds too !
I guess you get a range of rubbish PA guys and variants on half time shoot outs. Same awful music selection though.

Odd that the description above is consistent with the action taken by the officials. What action would you have taken ? And why would you assume the highly trained neutral professional is wrong whilst the untrained and unqualified partial observer ( who may also be reporting what they believed they...

Re: BFTG . Derby

It will always be thus.
I don't think the officials always help themselves. I love watching rugby refs who are generally superb at game management but if a football ref tried to adopt the same style they would get nowhere.

Re: BFTG . Derby

You said these incidents involve 2 players based on experience, and that both should be treated the same, and that you don't think the relevant information was communicated by mic. But that ignores the fundamental point that officials can only deal with what they see. And clearly they saw one red ca...

Islam, Christianity and Judaism are pretty much the same religion just with different interpretations. Makes the massive conflicts they provoke even more stupid. Forgive me but I think comments like this are stupid. There's way, way more to these massive conflicts than differences in opinion over i...

Re: BFTG . Derby

But you stick with the idea that based on experience rather than observation you would send off two players if just one of them had been seen to be guilty of violent conduct ? Clearly the officials worked out that there was a 'reason' why Sa acted the way he did, hence the yellow card shown to Shake...
