Re: Next Season's Squad.

Anyone know what Xabi Alonso said about tackling? Started off by saying that Carrick and older Scholes would have had better careers if the English weren't so obsessed with blood-and-thunder tackling, then this: "I don't think tackling is a quality. It is a recurso , something you have to reso...

Re: BFTG - Boro (A)

Not much to say really, an early goal scored, yet again we drop points from a winning position. They attacked us all of the first half from their right hand side and we did nothing to combat it Martinez 7 - some decent saves Yiadom 5 - looked a threat going forward but partially at fault for both g...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by Jordan Holsgrove's dad

Oh ffs Ian he's 17 years old. Mick Gooding was saying the complete opposite of what Ian said about Olise. It's fascinating how so many people watch the same game but have different opinions. I guess we'll find out in a couple of years who was right. Oh there's no logic or reason that I can think of...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by Jordan Holsgrove's dad

Found that quite frustrating. Could easily have won it with Meite and / Oliveira.... McCleary failing to convert multiple good opportunities... missing clear balls forward into space, delaying getting the cross in... but we still had enough opportunities to equalise. Mind you, M'bro had plenty of t...

Re: Next Season.

Been dropped by Wimbledon. Time to move on I think id like to know the ins and out before writing him off. was he loaned as cover, and being overlooked now in favour of a Wimbledon player they would prefer to give time to etc Wimbledon changed formation from 442 to 541. For whatever reason they bel...

Re: End of season contracts

Out of contract or not the club need to offload a lot of players and it has been alluded to before that they will offer players out for free as well. Lowering the wage bill is definitely our top priority. I think we will see the below leave or be offered out for nothing to trim the wage bill. Aluko...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

You want evidence? Well, I'd certainly give some weight to what Liam Moore has to say on the issue: Clement struggling to get his ideas across, Gomes being clearer in his instructions and his ability to ship out the negative influences. Also, Gomes just seems a more positive personality, a much bet...

Re: Financial Fair Play

From Despair To Where? Being a bit mischeivous, I had a look on TransferMarket at what Rio Ave players are out of contract this summer and got

Nelson Monte CB
Fabio Coentrao LB

Coentrao has had more injuries than A & E. Absolutely no way.

Re: Financial Fair Play

From what I’ve heard, our perilous financial situation is going to scupper our chances of signing any of the loan players  Aside from Oliveira (and even then i'm not convinced there won't be better offers) do you genuinely believe any of the others would be interested in signing for us? Every ...

Looks like the club are starting their summer clear out. I expect to hear of a few more youngsters being told to move on.

Re: PoTS

Right, Meite has scored some important goals this season, and not even his biggest critic can deny that But the point I'm trying to make is he's scored 7 league goals this season, and 6 of them were in the space of three weeks. Is that really a contender for POTS, considering it was a purple patch....

Novakovich scores, gets an assist and gets the opposition defender sent off against Emmen. I'm still baffled as to why we loaned him out. https://www.readingfc.co.uk/contentassets/486c6de3cd36455d939303bcbc5bbbc7/tev2.jpg/Large https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6129/5930024542_bc00b01356_b.jpg Replace...

Re: Gomez tactics may still take us down

I find this thread pretty ridiculous. Any tactic that doesn't come off could lead to a defeat. If we played a long ball that was won by the opposition who subsequently scored as a result of winning it the argument is the same as going short and losing it. It's just more obvious. He has his philosoph...

Re: Financial Fair Play

According to that, at 86%, we are one of only 7 clubs who's wage bill was less than 100% of total income. No surprise that Birmingham topped the list at 243%. To be honest, I'd rather see us being run as sustainably as possible than sticking the family silver on a 20-1 shot. Good money management f...
