Not sure goalkeeping/defence are our only problem. Expecting/demanding a clean sheet away to Everton is a pretty tall order. We only conceded one. I'd have probably taken that before the game. Heck, you figured Andy Johnson alone would be good for one goal against us, as he usually is :P After getti...

But you think Sidwell has been greedy, right? Hey, I'm a big fan of Doyle. But he's been here barely 18 months and has had, at last count, 3 different contracts so far. Not sure what all the other players are thinking, but Doyle must feel like he's found the pot at the end of the rainbow. Thi...

If Steve Sidwell isn't happy to settle for the same wage that saw Kevin Doyle commit to this club for the next 3 years, he can walk in the summer as far as I'm concerned. Just a second - we have absolutely NO idea what Doyle is now getting following his THIRD contract deal in 18 months. Heh...I was...

It shouldn't have come to this. We have a terrific midfield when compared to a lot of other clubs. Supporters are posting everywhere (take a look at Sheff U sites) for players to come in who WANT TO PLAY. We already have those players. They don't grow on trees. And if anyone wantsa view of the true...

Not sure what he's worth, exactly. Just used 2 mil as an example. Keep in mind, if he walks in 4 months time, a club could sign him for nothing.

And yes, I do think our current position now enters into the equation. It has to.

Yeah, I just hope we don't get screwed a la what Sol Campbell did to Spurs when he went to Arsenal. If Sids leaves, I want to get something for him.

You know, actually if we know for sure that he's not gonna sign and that he's gonna walk in the Summer, I think I would sell him now for a couple million. It now looks like we're going to stay up anyway, with or without him, so we may as well cash in our chips, otherwise we're going to be down a cou...

I keep hearing Sids is replaceable, yet I haven't seen too many names mentioned. Nobody in our current squad, that I'm aware of, fits the bill. So if Sids leaves in the Summer for nothing, what are we faced with? Well, we'd likely need to fork out quite a lot of money on a replacement player that we...

Fed had a makeshift back 4 in front of him, true. But he also wasn't facing strikers in the form of Henry, Drogba, and Rooney...which is what Marcus has been facing. Suffice to say, the caliber of striker - and the standard of finishing - in the Premiership is much better than that of an average Cha...

Trigger I don't think he's a long way from competing for the first team.

I think thats a key issue. Marcus has been shaky at times this season, and he's no spring chicken, and yet he's not really had anyone pushing him for his place.

Huntley & Palmer This is the Marcus that flapped at Lampard's cross against Chelsea and was out of position for Solskjaer's goal at OT?

H&P, are you saying you actually think Fed is better than Marcus?

Just asking, because I know some have had some 'issues' with Marcus this season...

Re: We are 9th, yes 9th, in the premier League

Half Horse Why moan about Hunt who, for all his short-comings, gives 100% each game?
Maybe because some feel his shortcomings outweigh his giving 100%?

Part of that is because the teams we are playing against typically have bigger, deeper squads than we do and they have more quality on the bench. Thus, their managers have more options and flexibility when it comes to making halftime changes.

Would you want to bring Shane Long on at halftime? :?

Is this the same Convey who, when last seen, was 'in over his head and out of his depth' ? :P TBH, we have a small squad and I think its showing, because to me we are starting to look tired. That doesn't bode well with all the holiday fixtures coming up. The January window can't come soon enough, bu...

Re: It's not always someone's fault.

As for Everton being "a damn good team" they had previously won one solitary away game all season, the same as Man City and Fulham and two LESS than Sheff Utd. Heh. Last week, Blackburn were supposedly also a 'damn good team' who were no doubt destined to fly up the table. Well, today Blac...

Sonks came from Brentford - not exactly known as a skillful football factory - for nothing, to the Championship, and then to the Premiership. Thats two major steps up. Not quite sure what other peoples expectations were, but he's far exceeded mine. He's still developing the finer aspects of the game...

Re: It's not always someone's fault.

We were outplayed by a damn good team, with bags of Premier League experience who are very "streetwise" - remember not so very long ago they qualified for the Champions League. Fair enough. Problem is, we seem to be playing against 'damn good teams' every week. We allegedly played a damn ...

What was Ivar playing at for the second goal, dawdling and waiting for the ball to come down when he's got someone with the pace of Johnson hot on his heels?! If you think Ingimarsson is gonna catch any grief, you've come to the wrong place. Dude gets done just about every time I see him play, but ...
