Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

So would being owned by a hedge fund organisation be a good thing (other than just "not being Dai")? Being owned by anyone other than Dai can only be a good thing; obviously, if we get bought by someone (or some organisation) and they continually fail to pay HMRC, pay bills or pay wages, ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Reading FC's annual report is interesting in this regard: Number of players = 39. Number of "football management and coaching staff" = 74 Clubs needs mulitple coaches and managers for every one of their age groups. They need scouts for scouting transfer targets. They need scouts and analy...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

So losing half of your income wouldn't leave you feeling a bit stressed GWL? Keeping in mind that the 28 year old footballer probably has 4 or 5 years left of earning well before their career ends. I doubt many lower league players waltz into lucrative salaries after they retire just as the rest of...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

It would stress me a bit, but some people on here are saying its worse for footballers than a nurse working in the NHS, which is patent nonsense. Has anyone literally said the bit in bold? - may have missed it but that is naturally nonsense. But looking at the players we have on our books at the mo...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Although I don’t have too much sympathy for footballers I do think that players below Championship level can still have similar worries to normal working people. I accept they generally earn a lot more money, but it’s all relative. Bigger house, bigger mortgage and bigger bills etc, and they still ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Agree, it must have put his petrol bill up by a fair amount having to travel the extra distance from Wycombe to Bearwood. Bleeding for her, as we all must be at this difficult time. Really 72? You don't think the pressure of not knowing if you're going to get paid from month to month or even if you...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

They won't be crimes, will they? Breaches of licensing regulations and/or breaches of competition rules. Yeah. Providing false information to the Regulator will be a criminal offence, or not complying with information requests. So the nuclear options are you comply with the parameters set out by th...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Also noticed that, saw some people yesterday saying about the German guy, if he wanted to bring London Irish back into the stadium, they wouldn't be for the takeover.  These people live in fantasy land. Yeh, also people dismissing the Vikings owners because they only want someone 100% fo...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

... I believe HMRC is due this week, but that will be lower than the wage bill ... Does RFC pay VAT quarterly or monthly? If quarterly the HMRC bill this month could be substantially bigger than previous months. I imagine quaterly as there is no point in anyone paying their VAT monthly as it create...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Leaving aside that the bill will fall after Rishi's shock calling of a GE next week, how likely do you think this would get through Parliament anyway? Yeh the biggest risk to this Bill is time. There are about 14 sitting weeks left till the November election. But given the opposition support the Bi...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Also, the Bill only had its 1st reading today.

So it will take months for it to be passed as an Act. And still then it will take a long time for the Regulator to be up and running. Maybe for the 2025-26 season might be a stretch goal.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

if hes converted £200m of dodgy money previously stuck in china to £30m of his own money freely usable outside of china it sounds like a good outcome for him I mean, he could have done exactly the same thing any number of ways. The Reading fanbase will eventually have to come to terms with the fact...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Just means this takeover is massive for us. If it all goes tits up for the incoming owners, we'll be protected by the regulator. This is the moment of maximum peril. Ridiculous to see the PL opposing it but not surprising. I wonder where their fans sit. Certainly, I would expect most "legacy f...

They're the official liaison between the club and it's supporters - would imagine this is right in their wheelhouse. Plus I don't think supporters would be very trusting giving the club any money at the moment. Rather give it to STAR would then be able to send it to the right account at the club. S...

They have two days to pay HMRC. Squeaky bum time.
