Re: Squad Watch 2024/25

Pereira is better than Button, so it's a shame he's the one with his contract up. He was decisive in the win against Northampton; that's the only game this season where a keeper has played a big winning role, whereas Button has a few key losing roles against his name. So I'd definitely try and keep ...

Re: Weekend Football

Even the best teams can't afford to miss a bucket of chances and then give away a cheap goal.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

I’d like to hang on to Smith. Just the sort of player to have in my ideal team. If a takeover happens, there's next to zero chance of Smith being sold with 2 years left on his contract. I'm not even sure who would come in for him who are better than us. Top half L1 striker is about his level; a Cha...

Have to say I'd be delighted if the current Championship bottom 3 come down. 3 more Yorkshire away days.

Re: Weekend Football

The gulf between the top 3 and Man Utd is vast, isn't it? Ratcliffe got a lot of work to do to get them competing again.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I believe Senga is highly rated by the club and I expect we'll see him in cup games at least next season, but that's a habit he needs to cut out. Another highly rated is Irishman John Ryan who has impressed for the U 21’s this season- has 2 very good feet ! Interesting. LB has been a minor issue; D...

Re: The Magic Number Thread

On Friday you could get 7/1 on us going down. It is now 16/1.

Opta had a 2.9% chance on Friday, and it hasn't been updated for yesterday yet.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Even selling Bindon this summer is a missed opportunity. He's only 19 and he needs regular game time. Give him a new contract for 3 - 4 years and sell him when he's 21 with 100 league appearances to his name, and worth 2x or 3x what he is now. Though as I've previously said, if he's not interested i...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

The one plus from yesterday (apart from the point) was the performance of Elliot. At last he was played between centre and right midfield whereas previously Selles had played him wide right which is a dreadful position for a right-footed player. Looking at those players yesterday I felt that only B...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

We seemed decent in possession but didn't have much cutting edge. It's not an uncommon story. LW has been an issue all season, Knibbs is a workhorse who supports Smith well but is not a no.10 to provide moments of brilliance. That means we need Azeez to be on form, and he hasn't been so much for the...

Among the ref criticism, anybody else think he bottled a 2nd yellow for Wing late on?

Re: The Magic Number Thread

I said before today we were 90% safe. It's probably 95% now given results. Even with 4 losses from 4 I'd fancy our chances. But Tuesday is a great opportunity to get to 99.9%.

I'd quite like to see Lincoln sneak promotion after today - they would get utterly humiliated in the Championship.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Could be a vital point. Well done. Now 17th. There is a 6 point gap between Reading and 21st. Burton have now slipped into the bottom 4 on 40 points but they have played the same number of games as Reading. Cheltenham are 22nd with 2 games in hand on Reading but are 8 points behind. Shrewsbury, Cam...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Good point given results around us, but would have been 3 with a better ref.

Bristol Rovers in poor form. We can finish the job on Tuesday, but we'd have a decent chance of survival even with 4 losses now.
