Would be interesting to hear the LMA's viewpoint on this. As a counter point, the managers of the 4 of the top 6 teams in the Championship all got their first managerial jobs in second tier football or higher on the strength of stints as youth team or reserve team managers. The only two who didn't w...
What does Lee Johnson have to do to get the sack? I actually think he has a decent enough young manager but City's form is beyond abysmal and the buck has to stop with him. Do Barnsley get a £20m payout if he keeps them up?
Well, the family are clearly looking for some clarification about what happened. There may be an aspect of the steward's actions that requires addressing or praising the family may want to pass on their concerns or thanks.
Can this be moved to rumours and gossip please Yet more poor form, do one you Bertie Agreed. This is a genuine request for help and that was totally uncalled for. My dad suffered from a hypoxic brain injury, so whilst not the same as Alzheimer's, the the effects are very similar and I can appreciat...
I remember using transfermarket in the aftermath of the semi final defeat to Arsenal to work out that Ozil and Sanchez (£77m worth) cost more than all our signings ever. We've signed a few since then but not enough to take it up to the £80m Newcastle have in their squad tonight. I think I took a gen...
I seem to remember strap saying it was a labour of love over about 2 decades. I suppose from once it's complete, it's relatively simple to update match to match.
So basically their match squad cost 10 times as much as ours.
Or to put it another way, their match day squad cost somewhere in the region of the combined fee for every player we've ever bought in our entire history.
I've only seen each incident once. In Mings' case I can see how it might be deemed accidental but he's lucky to stay on. With Ibrahimavic, he seems to make a clear, deliberate motion with his elbow towards the player. Clear red in my opinion.
I just think he maybe has an abrasively smug personality that is tolerated for short periods of time but eventually loses respect and he's so easy to wind up.
Says it all that his 3 1/2 years at Reading is the longest he's stayed in any managerial job and Millwall aside, he's not come anywhere near replicating that success in the subsequent 23 years. His footballing philosophy was pretty sound so I've no idea where it's gone wrong. Maybe he's just a colo...

That would be Gunnarsson and Lita who weren't regular starters. I'm talking about the general consensus that we should not have released Forster go, the signings were expensive lower league gambles or complete nobodies from nothing leagues and that after Plymouth, we were in a relegation struggle an...
So it was. Looking at that 2004-05 season, there was absolutely no inkling we were about to wipe the floor with that league. In fact I remember what it was like on here after the defeat to Plymouth on the opening day of 2005-06. Put simply, I cant think of too many managers who have achieved in 8 mo...
