I just have a better understanding of some of the background than many, I think, and of the way business and the real world work in practise. Also a very highly developed sense of fair play, a hatred of ignorance and prejudice, and a real dislike of people posting opinions as facts on message boards...

But what do the club stand to gain by pissing off any of those bodies or authorities?.

They're sure to need something off them at some stage, even if they do have the right to refuse, so it'd be short-sighted to risk losing their goodwill.

Ever thought it might be that the club are being pressured by some outside body to produce stats on the ethnice diversity of their support? It may or may not be Reading Borough Council, the FA, the Premier League, etc etc - or someone else , but I very much doubt that this is something that RFC woul...

I'd guess that lottery income - which is quite admin intensive and so will be expensive to run - has become much less significant when compared to the riches that come in from the Premier League and TV.

ITV "Rich List"

Just seen this is on ITV now with a trailer of JM in part 3 talking about owning RFC.

Not sure if he'll say anything new but they are quite in-depth profiles so could be interesting.

Just that whatever criticisms about Leroy might be valid, the assertion "give him time to think and he is little better than a Conference player" isn't a valid criticism as it also applies to many other successful strikers.

Now seems a reasonable time to quote what I actually said.... As I have said many times before he is an excellent goalscorer with an amazing leap, but give him time to think and he is little better than a Conference player. That could be said about so many players, though. Goalscoring is an instinc...

SC said at the fans' forum on Monday that what they have done this season has absolutely no bearing on what they are able to do next season - the only problem is that some fans may have raised levels of expectation because of this season. He also said that they are determined to prove there is no su...

Why is it not to protect the customer? If I were to buy a shirt and get a number on it, I'd not want the last shirt to have been used on that machine to be a skanky one. I think the numbering machine has to go inside the shirt, so it is relevant to health and safety. It's not really any that differe...

ScottishRoyal As far as him staying in England this season goes, as he was only on loan I think we would have been well within our rights to let him go once he was injured and avoid paying his wages.

But that's not the "Reading way".

Yep - his only downside is that he sometimes loses concentration very easily, but that can be worked on and will improve with age.

SC also said at the forum that it was only fair and decent to give Peter Mate a chance to prove himself (or otherwise) here when he's fully fit.

Also that during his injury layoff he's had a chance to learn English which will help.

So expect at least another season here out of him.

I didn't realise this, but following the Downes slapping Colin incident, it turns that another member of the RFC staff is up in front of the FA on Thursday for charging down from the West stand to join the melée. Eamon Dolan was suggested by one of the guest, but Dills would neither confirm or den...
