Re: Brian - it is time to be ruthless.

I agree with the sentiment in general, but I'm just not sure it would work. If possible, I would certainly get Samuel back now to give him 10 games to bed in. However, we would ideally bring the younger players like Samuel, Fosu, Tshibola into a winning side, so it might not do much for morale to pl...

Re: Refwatch Palace (h)

Can anyone explain why Jake Cooper gets a second yellow? If it is a foul it is innocuous at best. I'll admit it could be deemed a foul and we have seen those given before, but it is such a slight contact that you don't necessarily expect the ref to give it. But I think booking him was bizarre for su...

Re: Palace tickets FA Cup

Arsenal Hull confirmed replay 8th March, bit of luck we should be due an announcement anytime now. With a ko time of 7pm after negotiation with UEFA (who wanted a 5:45pm kick off so didn't clash with European matches) This is ridiculous. Little clubs like Reading and Bradford had to play Monday nig...

Re: The obligatory "I've travelled 10000 miles" fan

i just stumbled across this old trail - and I am the guy at whom much of this is aimed at. Unfortunately the point of the story was lost on everyone as the Evening Post story did not include the full picture. For roughly 8 years when Reading were at their all time low at Elm Park I was a season tic...

Re: Palace tickets FA Cup

It's looking likely the replay will be on the Tuesday before the 6th round fixtures so they won't wait for the replay to decide the date and time of the fixtures. I wouldn't be surprised if they did wait ! However I reckon we will get lucky and be on the Saturday. Everton Chelsea and Man U West Ham...

Re: Gunter two year contract extension

Good news. I don't particularly rate his ability but you can't deny he gives his all, has tremendous pace and links up well with McCleary. Its also great news that not all footballers are obsessed by money. From how the negotiations have panned out in the media it sounds like he has accepted reduced...

Re: Something wrong at the club?

I know I will get labelled a conspiracy theorist and so forth but something seems to be wrong behind the scenes this season. On paper we had probably the best ever assembled RFC squad at the start of this season Hands up those who believed this was, even on paper, the best ever RFC squad. Anyone? A...

Re: Huddersfield Replay

So it's unreserved seating in both stands meaning that everyone will go to the East Stand on the night.... Going to be fun near kick off as stewards desperately start looking for places with 2/3/4/5 seats together etc. When we used to do this all the time about 15 years ago there was a rule that ti...

Hey All, Who do you think our most famous fan is? Well, personally I think Kate Winslet is a pretty good contender, isn't she? Well, I was surfing earlier and came across an article featuring her and other celebrity fans, enjoy! http://buff.ly/1MTGuKi Is someone able to block this spam? This messag...

Re: Would you cash in on Blackman?

+1. No point in having Blackman playing on the right wing, hes a poor Championship right winger having no right foot or crossing or passing ability. Likewise, Piazon is pointless as a left winger. Same for Al Habsi and Bond, both being pointlessly played out of position in goal when they clearly are...

Re: SPACULATION - Peter Crouch

I think Crouch is a likely sort of McDermott signing. We are very one dimensional with Vydra, Blackman, McCleary, John, and haven't scored from about 160 corners. (And that was our 4th choice CB). We need to be able to mix it up and have a player with a bit of nous and experience with their back to ...

Re: Chris Davies in as first team coach - Terry Burton depar

I think the most plausible explanation is that Terry Burton (or his wife/family etc) decided that missing Christmas Day to watch players train wasn't really what he wanted to do in his 60s. He probably doesn't particularly need the money as WBA paid off his last contract so why would he bother? I me...

Re: Did Bobby Convey live up to his Championship Manager rep

Personally I'm happy to read articles about our players from any angle but I do agree that making up silly stories about having a few hours to spare (championship manager takes days, not hours!) and pretending you didn't write something yourself is a bit weird. Looking at previous posts by same user...

Re: Do we have too many foreigners?

True but the Jay Tabbs,Phil Parkinsons and Adie Williams of this world are unlikely to be setting the world alight in lower leagues. (Ngolo Kante excepted). Hard to stand out in a holding role in a crap league. At this level its the excitement of the Hurtados, Kebes, Matejovskys that make you take a...

Re: Welcome back Brian?

Theres some media talk that Arsenal are bringing in Steve Walsh, the Leicester head of recruitment as Chief Scout. Perhaps McDermott is just honouring his scouting committments ahead of the January window, while the deal for Walsh is tied up? With all the hype he is getting over Mahrez and Vardy I'm...
