WestYorksRoyal And I don't really think liquidation makes sense either, it's definitely against Dai's financial interest.

It would mean he could sell the real estate assets without having to fund the club in any way.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Not if Reading were re-starting. There's a ton of possibilities esp. with groundshares in the area and places that could probably grow with Reading if Reading couldn't get back to the Mad Stad. Other than Maidenhead, nothing is really viable, and even that can only be viable short term. Ground shar...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I have "been there" as a Newport County Fan Going out of the league and bust was horrible and frankly I thought the re-launch was a hopeless dream... We were forced to play outside Wales (at Moreton-in-the Marsh) for a fair while. With four others, I ran the 80 miles to Moreton, raising c...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

Tomorrow #ReadingFC will have their highest home crowd of the season so far with over 15,500 tickets sold. Via: [@james_e1871] I didn't realise our best crowd of the season was so low. I was reading about a high crowd being expected and was thinking 18000+. I guess this season has been all about ad...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Obviously I know that I'd follow a phoenix club but I was surprised when I asked my 12 and 14 yr old if the worst happened would they trek along every weekend to watch us play Combined Counties and they both said it was a no brainer and they'd keep going I think the novelty of being able to go to m...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

Fearing a heavy defeat in this one. Why's that Nath? Any rhyme or reason? Or purely gut instinct? Be interested to know. Wycombe have been playing well for the majority of the season without getting results, they have tried to get away from the Ainsworth hoofball tactic they were so accustomed to. ...

Re: Sporting Integrity

So basically, and, I'm just using very rough calculations to look at a ball park figure, our tax liability on a monthly wage bill of £450,000 (including all staff), is maybe in the region of £150k-£200k? I appreciate the bulk of that is part of the £450,000. That's 10,000 paying customers a month o...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Be fair. Not many people will realise that the owners of a national league team need to spend a million just to keep their clubs afloat. That is staggering, no matter how familiar you are with the crazy finances of English football. Thanks - that's the point I was making ... was shocked that even n...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Big money for the Championship, absolutely not. Big money for L1? Most of Holmes, Yiadom, Wing, Smith, Knibbs, Button absolutely, maybe Azeez, maybe Mukairu. NGW would have been. McIntyre would have been. Ejaria would have been on fairly good Championship money and we'd have had to cover a lot of i...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

Not defending the whole points deduction system as I've been a critic of it for many, many years - but one argument that made fot it actually impacting an owner is that they decrease the value of the owner's asset if they want to sell it - e.g. a L2 club has a lower market value than a L1 club. Of ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Mark Bowen said we had a top 3 wage bill budget on BBC Radio Berkshire earlier this season. That probably counts the academy as well though, as I doubt we have many players on big money. With a (first team) squad as small as ours, we'd need to be paying well over the odds to have a high first team ...

Total respect and admiration to all the fans making the mammoth journey up north Saturday , safe journey Love a good road trip me. Going up tomorrow night as don't fancy getting up at 6am on a Saturday for this one. I never mind a long drive to a game. It's the journey home, especially if it's dark...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Or we could do a Bolton and go into a season with no senior players. We'd get relegated for sure, but it would keep us alive and the transfer fees from like likes of Wing, Knibbs and Smith would help us survive. And Bolton are doing just fine now. Bolton's overheads are way lower than ours. I don't...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Well, they may not expel us at that point but if there is doubt about us as a going concern they will want to avoid the situation they had with Bury where they had to suspend their first 6 games as they didn't want them playing any games until proof was given that creditors could be paid off. When ...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Much more sporting success there compared to our relegation rivals. A 3rd party observer might say Reading are gaining a continued sporting advantage compared to their competitors, by being able to maintain a superior playing squad which it can't actually afford. And our rivals are all sticking to ...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

We're probably too expensive compared to the options they're looking at. I bet loads of interested parties see us as a good opportunity and a potential bargain as a club in crisis. Then they contact our cnut of an owner, get given a ridiculous price and it's over. Best way out of this is probably s...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

However . . . The continued existence of clubs has to take priority over all other factors. The rules, 'fairness', the integrity of the league .. . none of it is more important than a football club being able to continue operating and the EFL needs to recognise that. I guess if "do nothing&quo...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

What does our summer look like if we know from the outset that Dai can't/ won't pay our bills? No Knibbs/Wing/Smith/Savage, perhaps Holmes and McIntyre sold. Maybe we'd still get Dean and Button. Put it this way, I think we're in a better position with the players and the points deduction than the ...
