Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I watch Chesterfield occasionally when I’m up there working, but my most local team is Royal Wootton Bassett. There’s certainly no way I’d watch Swindon. As I said before I wouldn’t bother with football anymore, probably not even with England.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I did my bit yesterday although it’s probably pointless. I ended up buying 3 home shirts, a couple of tickets for each remaining home game ( I couldn’t see Blackpool) for 2 good mates who can’t afford to go these days and some stuff I don’t really need. If we end up being liquidated that’s me done w...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I just bought myself my first Reading shirt for many years. It was a bargain £22 from Kitbag and it might be our last ever one.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

On another note - the news over the past few days - there are 2 readings into it 1. The club truly is utterly screwed and money will definitely run out in the next couple of weeks unless they can source funding or 2. This is all part of a plan to try and get some momentum going. Over the past few d...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I honestly think if the club folds that’s me and football done. As much as the thought of helping to build a phoenix club appeals, I don’t reckon I could be arsed. I know I am probably wrong but the injustice of it all doesn’t fit well with me. Clubs spending £100m on one player, other clubs manipul...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Well aren't all of you right? For some it's a family day out, for some it's a day on the piss with their friends, for some it's a place they can escape from life for a few hours, others something they keep in touch will from a distance and a connection to their home town. Whatever it means to you, ...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I accepted a while back that the club is probably oxf*rd. I will always be prepared to donate some money to help keep the club afloat. I’d even buy my season ticket for next season knowing that it might become null and void. I appreciate a lot of fans wouldn’t want to, but I’d happily take the chance.

Re: Rumour - Everyone Everywhere all at once

I can’t find it on twitter anymore, but I am sure I saw a tweet this morning claiming that we’re on the verge of signing Kazaiah Sterling on a contract until the end of the season. Apparently, he’s a striker and was on Spurs books at one time. For obvious reasons, it’s probably bollox, but because o...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Tbf, not a bad message from Bowen. I thought there were undertones of trying to rally up more fans to attend games, which is a good thing as money is going to be very tight until we get new owners.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Just listened to Nigel Howe on the podcast, it would seem some prospective buyers are surprised they`re not getting the hotel too and some are concerned that we could lose all the car parking space when the royal elm park development finally starts, said he hoped they could buy that too, fukks sake...

Re: Giant Ruben flag...

Hi gang, Some fans on Facebook suggested getting a giant Ruben flag made, so show some respect to the man for what he has achieved this season. They're remarkably cheap, so I've put together a fundraiser, link below. Please consider chucking a £5er in. Aim to release at the Lincoln home game.... if...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

So STAR's minutes from the EFL meeting suggest possible progress, as does the Howe interview. But also suggests money from January will run out during March. We're fast approaching sale or bust. Hopefully it happens this time. Knowing our luck, probably bust or at the best more points deductions. C...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Carlisle United (a)

I think I might even have Craig and Bindon above Wing. Wing does the spectacular. But Craig and Bindon just do the unglamourous but importsnt work brilliantly, week in, week out. To have two academy players in basically their debut season be standouts is exceptional. Then there was Abbey too. Hones...

I can’t remember if I imagined this, but does the deal with Sky improve significantly for EFL clubs starting from the 2024/25 season?

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

' Bolton's overheads are way lower than ours ', are they? Do you have the figures? I don't but I should know how much Bolton overspent last season by the end of this month. I can tell you that it didn't survive in League 2 on its income and is unlikely to be surviving in League 1 on its income eith...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I have almost resigned myself to the fact there’ll be no takeover, so if it happens it’ll be a nice surprise. I think I am more bothered about Brogue getting a hat trick of centuries in such a short space of time. :D

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Yeah we have the quality to get out comfortably. The concern is whether heads go like they did last year or we use it to galvanise another push for the next couple of months. Obvs the latter is preferable I think a lot of last season was the messaging from the manager and how negative that often wa...

I am just writing that off as one of those games. It was disappointing to say the least, but Shrewsbury just have the hoodoos over us this season. Move on to Carlisle.
