Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Interested to know how Wycombe can afford the facility and upkeep. Doesn’t that much sense to me really. They don’t have a proper academy or a women’s teams. Or an u21 team at any sort of level afaik I would imagine it isn't being bought by Wycombe but the owner via one of his investment companies....

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

That’s it for me we’re dead. The only shed of light I can see is we share the training ground with Wycombe and maybe Dai sells the club and stadium for next to nothing. I want to hear something official from the club and there needs to be an announcement today. Hasn't the main interested party just...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Most positive reading of this is as follows - I don't believe this for a moment but anyway: Reports by Bucks Free Press put the sale at 22m. Club sees all of this - I know, I know. Immediate cashflow problems are gone - not sure how long 22m lasts but lets say that covers next season as well even wi...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Whilst it's not great news to hear, we don't know if this group was anywhere near a deal. Are they the front runners? Or one of the other groups. Why does the announcement make them walk away? Is it the potential sale, or simply not trusting Dai now? Could it just be cover as they know they won't su...

Not sure this angle of the "foul" has been posted yet. Ouch.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a)

The thing is, if your default is to simply clear the ball whenever things get tricky, you never keep possession, spend 90 minutes defending and normally lose. So defenders need to take risks playing out. It didn't work out this time, but it wouldn't have been a costly error without a howler of a re...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

And the Saudis only seem interested in high profile sports, so Reading would be an odd choice. Yeah, this is what's puzzling me. Its not like we're a Championship side on the brink of the Premier League so why the interest. But then again I think that about anyone supposedly interested in buying us...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a)

However, in both cases a Reading player probably made a poor decision to find themselves in a situation where a poor decision could be made by the ref. How is Yids not tripping Gayle a poor decision? For his 2nd yellow, he tried to turn his way out of trouble when surrounded by Derby players - ball...

Mid Sussex Royal
WestYorksRoyal Changing topic, there must be a STAR meeting with Howe soon?

Yep its well overdue, several people on twitter have asked STAR

The schedule was meant to be every Thursday but with flexability if things were going on - so next scheduled one is tomorrow.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

If the tweet from Eddie turns out to be true - and he usually has decent sources then whilst I would not be happy to be a front for Saudi money, it means we still have our club and the likelihood that we will actually be able to be a steady ship. They obviously won't be able to go and spend like cra...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a)

Of course it’s nothing like a penalty but being generous to the ref, seeing Gayle handball it might have been difficult. Though I’d have thought the first conclusion would have been Perreira got to the ball first which again wouldn’t have been a pen Proper cheating from Gayle though - punch the bal...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a)

Looked like handball immediately to me whilst watching & Gayle's OTT celebration backed that up. He knew he had been clever and got away with one. The only defence you can give a ref is that the angle he had hid the handball & so he just saw a collision caused by an onrushing keeper. If so, ...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Uke Are we not at the "Mike Ashley" stage yet? The one where he comes in a buys everything for 30p?

The seller would have to be willing to sell it for 30p for that to happen. No sign of that at the mo.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

As has been pointed out on a number of occasions by others, there is limited development potential at the training ground because of protection orders and listed status. Not sure you'd get anything near £30m for the ground either. As a functioning stadium maybe but I don't think the land is worth t...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Lets say it was doable and we were able to attract 4 to 5k to games - it would essentially mean mothballing 3 stands until such time as the club felt it could sell enough tickets to make it worth operating them. I think people seriously understimate the support a new optimistic Reading club could h...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Have seen a few highlights of Bury games and it could be fun starting again but hard to see the positives. They of course do have a stadium that holds no more than 12k, so playing there is doable on crowds of 3 to 4k. Playing Ascot at the SCL is a non starter . I don't see why, unless we would stil...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Forgive me as I know nothing about this stuff, but do we not enter administration which forces Dai to sell, before we just go out of business? Only a secured creditor, the directors or I believe the company's bank can request administration. It won't really work for us as Dai could still block any ...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I agree about the toast part. My heart is saying we’ll be saved, but my head knows Dai isn’t a normal rational person and he’s already killed 2 clubs. Also, the reality is that once we fold it’ll soon be forgotten and Sky will be dedicating several days to Liverpool fans mourning Klopp leaving. Loo...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I presume that Reading Phoenix will apply to the Combined Counties League and therefore start out in Division 1 against the likes of Windsor, Yateley and Rising Ballers Kensington Current CCL Div 1 Table And the team thread would move to the Non-League thread under General Football Surely we'd smas...
