Re: Relegation

How do they know? Has this lot ever tried?
Barrow tried it yesterday and was successful, except that no one else understood and he was left unsupported.

Re: Relegation

What I really don’t get in this world of football is, like the World Cup, fast passing and attacking teams invariably won easily. When the likes of Liverpool, Man City etc play fast forward football in the EPL they win easily. If we play a team like that our defence really struggles, as did the team...

Re: Relegation

It saddens me to say that there was absolutely nothing different on show yesterday than that dished up for most of last season. Still the slow, lumbering passes. To get from one side of the pitch to the other the ball has to go to each and every player between who has his three touches before passin...

Re: Greyhound parking

Park where ffs? The only bus where we live is rammed even when we’re down the bottom of the league. What happens if we got promotion? last time you couldn’t breathe on the bus and people were left behind as there was no space. Last year due to more parking spaces being shut down and the extra cars g...

Re: Who still thinks Reading will avoid relegation...

The sad thing is, is that if we stay up, it won't be because we fought a relegation battle and won by showing some backbone or guile, it will only be because those below us carried on playing equally as bad or even worse.

And there we go. Elphick on the bench (but maybe to be brought on as striker with ten minutes to go?)

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

Good for Gunter and McShane. However I think most of us would prefer at least some explanation or insight as to why everything has gone so tits up this season. We just want someone to give some reason to why McShane is suddenly half the player he was last season in ability and speed. Why is it sudde...

Re: Could Stam be contracted to his current style of play?

Apparently there was a comment on the radio during the Birmingham match ( i didn't hear it I was at the match) concerning the style of play being so slow that our fitness may be suffering. We aren't playing fast committed football for 90 minutes each week ( that part is certainly true) and as a con...

Re: Gourlay out.

Serious question. How does this FFP work? I mean Wolves seem to be spending ridiculous amounts and the question of FFP never seems to arise. We don't seem to be able to spend ten quid and FFP is used as the reason (excuse?) I thought it was how you balance your books? So it begs the questions 1) do ...

Re: Back the boys and make some Noise

So the general feeling is the players are over paid and undeserving of our praise, vocal support and I totally get that - but We support Reading ! No matter who wears the shirt - when I say we get behind the team - its not the individual players of whom will probably move on and may or may not even...

Re: Back the boys and make some Noise

I’ve noticed that the West Stand start booing and griping a lot quicker than the rest of the Mad Stad. The Dolan stand seem a bit more understanding and get behind the team more even when it’s going wrong. The East stand seem just content to wind up the visiting fans, some don’t even watch the matc...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (h) sponsored by a nice quiet evening out

Not a boring game but it gets boring throwing games away and it will be boring listening to Stam tell us that we should have taken our chances.

Notice that on their forum they're buying up south west home seats and smatterings of lower west as they've sold out their allocation.

Re: BFTG - Middlesbrough

Let's be honest, with a view to our performances at the moment, if we had no manager at all but someone said 'look lads, go out and play to your strengths and enjoy yourselves would we 1) get the same results i.e lose (but maybe by a larger margin) or maybe get the couple of wins against teams we re...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

Hound
Simple thing is we just need to play better. Tactics going forward need to be better, movement needs to be better and we need to stop conceding every bloody game

So basically all round fvcking useless.

Is Stam incapable of changing tactics

No he's not.
When we play well ( Birmingham, Leeds, Villa) he changes the team and formation next game.
If an individual plays well (Kelly, Evans etc), he's on the bench next game.

Once again another team and formation.
Obviously doesn't work at all so let's look forward to a defensive change at 88 minutes.

Low crowd mainly due to encroaching into Saturday night and also on Sky, but maybe there's more excitement to be had sitting at home staring at the carpet.
