Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

You've used this argument before. Garath McCleary's record must be virtually identical, but you've never made the same case about him. I wonder why! It's probably because it's transparently evident in McCleary's game that timidity and caution aren't an issue. There are clear differences to their ca...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

With our far reaching scouting network these days, and the extra cash, I think we will get 4-5 players of quality Like we did last season, that you are now rejecting?? FFP doesn't really exist anymore. At the sort of amounts needed for your wholesale purchases, yes it does. We'd blow the three year...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

Stick to hurling. Who is that aimed at? Your "new players required" little diagram might be appropriate if we had been promoted. But unless we totally smash FFP regulations, spreading the investment across that many players in the Championship is just going to result in players no better ...

Re: Thank you Danny Williams

Actually, think I've misinterpreted that rule. It's a maximum of one loanee from any one club, so they couldn't loan both Palmer and Brown again. Definitely think they should buy Mooy permanently though. I think if I was a parent club I wouldn't necessarily want to lend back to the same club two ye...

Re: Season ticket renewals 17/18

Not sure but if they are then I think it's negligible. £395 for an East Stand ticket £45 extra then for East Stand, mine was £350. No increase at all for 18-24, it's still £150. It was £135. Small increase I know but it has increased. Yeah occurred to me later that my son's ticket wasn't a renewal,...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

I think, if we are going to carry on with the 5-3-2/3-4-1-2 system we've been playing recently, there's a couple of positions where we should look to sign someone of real first team quality. Firstly, as good as he has been, perhaps the time has come to replace Gunter - not because I don't rate him,...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

It's why he's not a winner. Look at his track record. Cardiff 06/07 - mid-table Cardiff 07/08 - mid-table Forest - 08/09 - bottom half Forest - 09/10 - bottled promotion and play offs Forest - 10/11 - bottled play offs Forest - 11/12 - bottom half Reading - 12/13 - relegated from the PL Reading - 1...

Re: Charlie Watts - great journo

I did think the write up was better than usual and was a bit surprised to see his name at the top Presuming it's a one off as GR felt the need to get as good a coverage as possible on such a big game Also presumably PL season is over, so all he's reporting on now for Arsenal is transfer rumours, an...

Re: Can we all agree...?

And if you can't control the nerves you're not good enough. There aren't too many players that have never, ever, missed a penalty. Are none of them good enough? You'd turn down David Beckham, Gareth Southgate, Alan Shearer from your fantasy Championship team, to name but three? this must win prizes...

Re: The Shame Your Block Thread

My block was fine (111). Lots of singing (although not terribly well co-ordinated), lots of standing. Like any decent away game, although not as good as Fulham. However, generally peed off at people getting tickets in the singing section and then not singing or moaning about having to stand or both....

Re: BFTG - Wembley

Don't think it's fair to say the players didn't try, they did. However I think many of them were just consumed with anxiety, and couldn't play like they normally do. Tbf the same was true of Huddersfield. The team mostly improved second-half Actually I thought the biggest mistakes were Stam's. Joey ...

Hound played a fair few big games for Utd I think. Millions watching on TV etc. Remember him scoring an own goal against Arsenal

For me I guess there's a difference between playing in big games, and having a lot expected of you in those big games. Take your point though.

Re: Current Form Vs Odds

T Two closely matched sides, two closely matched managers. Potentially a little more big game experience on our side, with the likes of Gunter, AAH, Williams, Blackett, Yann, Moore but not sure how much that will count on the day Blackett?? Would add McCleary to the list of players with big-game ex...

Jonathan Low tweeting that Obita is not in training today. Nice one Jonathan, I'm sure Stam is delighted that you've shared that for all to see. Jeezus, I'm no fan, but is there anything people won't b*tch about? If Stam didn't want people to know whether or not Obita was in training, he'd have had...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town v Reading, Play Off Final, 29 May 2017 (Wembley)

Ahead of the game, Kachunga is apparently a slight doubt for Huddersfield (according to GetReading). Meanwhile Obita is still rated as a doubt. Club keeping cards close to its chest at the moment and not letting on. He was at Wembley with the rest of the squad yesterday apparently. No doubt Stam wi...

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

The fact that the club are now basically pleading with fans to buy tickets suggests to me that we have a few left . . . http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/these-moments-dont-come-around-often-be-at-wembley-3724371.aspx I'm confused by the statement "Tickets are still available, in...
