Re: Upset the Apple cart.

And if we had won 3 in a row you would be against bring our best player back into the team? Yes. I see. I think Ian's point about needing to earn your place to get back into a winning team is valid up to a point but more so perhaps in amateur sport and not so in the hard world of professional sport...

Re: VAR

Anybody know how VAR is going down in all the other major leagues? My Turkish paper shop mate says that in Turkey the problem has been that the ref doesn't call on VAR if he doesn't want to. As a Galatasaray fan he thinks that refs have it in for them (he is one of us, a typical football fan!!) wher...

Re: VAR

Is VAR showing how bad our referees are?. Anthony Taylor had 2 of his crucial decisions overturned the other day and now at Anfield yet another. Er, two actually It is utterly ridiculous that players are being called offside because they have a hand in an offside position. This is just the sort of ...

Re: VAR

I just want to watch a game. I could not care less if mistakes are made by players, managers or officials it’s part and parcel of playing and watching. Over the course of a season crap goes both for and against you so just deal with it. Currently this stupid system stops the game, kills celebration...

Re: VAR

I am not getting this hate for var and offsides. FFS Pukki was offside. If you like it or not he was off. Fraction or not he was off. Unless you factor in a 10% error ratio you have to be exact. As I have said many times before var should be used as a matter of fact and in this case it was. Unless ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by Martin Allen

Expect it will get lively with both Nugent and Barkhuizen making an appearance at the start of the second half. That next goal cliché is probably very true for this one. Of the teams below Reading only 'boro are currently winning - at WBA  Stop being negative Sutekh looking at the bottom-Bre...

Re: Weekend Football

Cracking game which Rangers have edged but that could be the killer goal for the season. With a name like Clancy and a first name of Kevin is the ref a Fenian? I wonder if Edouard and Morelos will be playing in the Premier League next season but Morelos might be too big a risk making Luis Sua...

Re: Weekend Football

Looking forward to a Super Sunday starting with Rangers trying to keep tabs on Celtic.
Rangers were far superior in the recent League Cup final but that was on neutral territory.
What price neither Scott Brown nor Morelos getting sent off.?

Come on the 'Gers.

Re: Rumour - Liam Moore to West Brom

For the sake of an extra £2k a week Moore would not move to West Brom to sit on the bench and then never get a look in when they are in the prem. 18 months time maybe but not now. Not sure he would sit on the bench. WBA are not that strong at the back and Bilic reportedly fell out with one of the c...

Re: BFTG QPR

Interesting views as always. For me Eze is currently ahead of Ejaria. Eze wasn't playing against Pele or Gunter last night he was playing wherever the space was. He is excellent at drifting into space between the lines and then attacking the back four if he gets the ball in the right area. He is al...

Re: Best/Worst Pundit

Classic Merson but he is one of the boys so whatever he says is irrelevant. Watched all the Amazon Prime games and because they were covering so many games loads of old lags were brought out, often with no connection to the teams involved. Paul Clement even made an appearance and dear old Ji...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

How good were Liverpool playing away against the team 2nd in the table? On a night when Mane and Salah were not at their very best they still managed to score 4. Sanguine can probably tell us but has a team in the top division in England ever had so many points at the halfway stage? In the year when...

Re: BFTG QPR

Watched the game from my sick bed at the same time as watching Liverpool-probably the sickness was a Reading disease picked up at the Derby game.. Very pleased with the result with the 6 points gained from these past 2 home games and the game was a bit better than many of these hoops derbies althoug...

Victor Meldrew I wonder what "'it the ball in the corners" is in Dutch.

Re: The Local Journo Thread

I don't think there was much showboating. What I did like were the inventive flicks in and around Derby's penalty area-whether they have been working on those who knows but Joao and Baldock combined brilliantly on a couple of occasions. It won't always work, as it doesn't always work with Liverpool'...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Fred being bossed by the 18 and 21 year old Longstaff brothers...... How have United fallen this far? This Utd team is the worst I’ve seen since the 80s I think this is now official in terms of points gained. Their team yesterday cost something like £400,000,000 after Pogba came on and they are now...

He has previous? No he does not. Er... Everton away? You can’t compare the two On the one today, was probably a red card but I wouldn’t have given it just because of how Rudiger reacted. It’s just quite sad and pathetic how footballers act these days, they spend more time on the floor than anything...
