Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

0-0 home draw for Almeria with Athletic Bilbao, now on to 9 points, and extending their La Liga record to 29 games without a victory. Cadiz are nearly as awful. They won two of their first four league games and sat sixth - and they haven't won since, 22 without a victory now. A 2-2 draw with Celta V...

Re: Weekend Football

Aren't you missing a league title there Brobs? You'd have loved Klop to have come in and turned Man U round like he has Liverpool. that's in the post above absolutely, but I don't think Klopp or Pep would have succeeded at Utd either. They'd still have had McFred, Maguire, Martial, DeGea etc on hug...

Re: Weekend Football

Liverpool’s under 21’s beating a £1bn Chelsea side is a great day for football This. Chelsea's 'super squad' of inexperience and poor quality humbled by a team that has seen eight academy graduates get a winners' medal. The club as a whole might not be, but Liverpool's cup winners an antidote to Ch...

Re: Weekend Football

I gather that there are changes next season - but it remains utterly silly that Man City v Brentford last night, and Liverpool v Luton tonight, be only available to watch legally outside of the UK, owing to blackout rules, and these games being moved outside of periods of TV fixture allocation.

Real on their way to another La Liga title and favourites for the Champions League.

Oh, and this summer they will add Mbappe and Endrick to their squad.

As for Mbappe, a massive fcuking YAWN. Guy will be 30 before he takes on a proper footballing challenge, if ever.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Some reports suggesting that Tuchel may be relieved of his duties at Bayern shortly and that they may look to give the job of interim manager to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before making a permanent appointment in the summer. Liverpool fans might be nervously worrying that Xabi Alonso is in a decent spot ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Almeria have now gone 26 La Liga games without a victory, and will equal Levante's record of 27 if they fail to beat Athletic Bilbao at home this weekend. And with just six points so far, they need another eight points from their remaining 15 games to beat the league's record low tally of 13 (Sport...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Sporting Directors have transfer fees now. Newcastle's Dan Ashworth - he joined from Brighton in 2022 - wants to join United, but he has a contract at St. James Park until 2026. Newcastle's owners want £20m from United to release him from that.

Re: Record Watch 23/24

just reading an article on BBC Sport, I didn't realize Derby's 11 points in our first season in the prem was a record still held to this day... across all of the top 5 European leagues :!:  I thought it was just a prem record. So they really are the ' worst team in history ' as we like to chan...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Three wins on the bounce for Leicester, and the record is very much back on. They need 32 points from 15 games - still a big ask, but they are very capable of (say) 10 wins and 2 draws to the end of the season. Should win their next two at home to Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday, and then it i...

Re: Weekend Football

Does feel like City are starting to do City things again. Five wins in a row - and their next three league games are at home. That said, Liverpool have got a lot of their tougher fixtures out of the way. Looking at their next eight - they host Burnley, Luton, Brighton and Sheffield United, and have...

Re: VAR

ESPN "study" shows that this season in the PL that VAR officials have made 20 (TWENTY) erroneous decisions which, to be honest, is utterly inexcusable. Same study apparently shows that Liverpool have been on the receiving end of 4 of those decisions with Brighton and Wolves next on 3 apie...

Bologna's highest finish since the 1960s is 7th, and they've done that six times. Last won Serie A in 1964.

Re: Weekend Football

Thiago, who returned to the Liverpool side after nine months out, against Arsenal, played ten minutes as a sub and got injured again. He has a 'muscle problem' that will keep him out for weeks. Guy is made of actual jelly. No way he stays at the club following his contract expiry. Must be the bigge...
