The pitch was poor, and near the away stand was just total mud and devoid of grass. Strangely there were watering it heavily before the game and at half time. Maybe Charlton are better at mud wrestling or water polo? PS I don't think Simon Church would be any better at these than he is at football.

It sounded from the commentary as if the pitch was a bog. Aren't there rules about pitch standards?
