Re: Back From The Game - Nottm Forest

It's inevitable that when we try to revert to a passing game, some will have a pop at the team that it isn't immediately highly effective. There was lots to like today, and a few things to be concerned about. On the whole though, the negatives (for instance the sometimes over-tentative passing) were...

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Firstly, why have the club bothered to put final ticket details on the websire before the first leg of the semi? But secondly - HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICES? Only the very back of the top tier for less than £50. Poor Burnley.

Re: Who's incredibly nervous about Sunday?

I'm quite laid back. Much more so than I would have imagined after full-time on Monday. I suspect its because its a long shot, which we don't deserve, and I had written off automatic weeks ago. Plus the play-offs to fall back on. Of the three teams, we ought to be the most relaxed. I hope that count...

Re: Ivar Ingimarsson - a VERY sad loss

Ingimarsson being out has, IMHO, been a key factor. Look at yesterday - in particular how deep our central midfield was sitting. In turn, this has isolated our wingers, making their job even tougher than being Jimmy Kebe already makes it. Without a couple of ball-playing centre backs our 442 essenti...

The "through thick and thin" thread

Look, I don't post much on the board any more. Mostly because it's a waste of time. But it is high time that someone stood up for the following, as there is a bit much nonsense about not going to Wembley/Birmingham/wherever going on. We need some perspective. "Frankly, we are a bit sh*t at the ...

Re: Changes to be made next week

Bring Murty back for leadership's sake. Bring Marcus in, simply because him and fed are much of a muchness in goal, but Feds good kicking is encourging the long ball. Tabb and Bikey in, kebe and Harper out so Rosey can play on the wing. Play Marek off Doyle against any team that is trying to pull th...

Re: What's the most obscure Reading match you have been to?

In terms of competitive first team games, I was one of about 50 hardy royals at underhill for the 4-1 defeat in the Auto-windscreens about seven years ago. Barnet were in the conference (they had just started letting some conference teanms compete) and Darius got sent off for a Keane-on-Haaland styl...

Big Ern Reading 0 - 2 Wolves

We have not been playing well the past few games and I think Wolves will be too good for us.

...Wolves have hardly been ripping up trees (3pts from the past 4 games).

Re: It's Inevitable...

Re my previous comments on Parkinson. Great loyal player for us. FACT. As for his managerial record.. 1) He resigned from Colchester with a year remaining on his contract. 2) He won 5 out of 24 games whilst manager of Hull. He left by 'mutual consent'. 3) Has zero wins in 10 league games at Charlto...

Re: RUMOUR - kris boyd

Boyd's got an attitude problem and Fletcher is unpredictable and unproven. I wouldn't waste money on either of them. The only realistic SPL signing i would go for is Christophe Berra at Hearts as a future CB/RB to replace Ivar/Doobs and/or understudy Liam.

Re: It's Inevitable...

Gary Johnson or Paul Ince. Both probably would come, both have a good rep for Reading style performance on husbanded resources, both will be ready fro a step up/new job. Ince didn't get a fair crack at Blackburn.

Re: Southampton wages ... a warning !

What stands out to me in that article is that in one season their income dropped from £23m to £15m, so that a £1.5m rise in their wage bill - from £10.5m to £12m - saw their wage bill go from 45% of their turnover to 81%. Exactly. The issue here is that the income side of their business (low gates/...

Re: Fedders MUST stay first choice

In true SSC style I reckon he'll be in the team until his performances aren't up to scratch. ..and that's they way it should be. At the moment, I reckon MH fully fit may be marginally ahead of Fed, but Fed's got the shirt and deserves a run to show he's the no1. And the fed kicking game is just gen...

Re: Back from the game - Norwich

my tuppence worth.. Fed - 7 - did what he needed to well. Good kicks. Needs to work on coming for crosses, but I suspect that is about confidence and a run in the team. Rosie - 7 - good going forward, caught napping a bit in defence a couple of times. Armstrong - 7 - god a proper working over from N...
