Re: CONFIMRED - John Swift

Saw him play for Swindon a fair bit season before last. Technically a good footballer with the ability to go past people. Might still be a little lightweight

Once was considered to be the new replacement for Lampard i.e. a box to box player. Played for England at virtually all levels.

Re: PRE SEASON FRIENDLY AT BOREHAM WOOD

Not sure what happened between the stadium announcer and the Reading coaches as it was broadcast that the whole team was changing for the second half although it was just after an hour that the youngsters came on. Stam obviously changed his mind. Game time together is critical. Otherwise the...

Re: New signing trend ?

Look at BM last season. No idea what formation to play, he chopped and changed week in, week out, and that unsettles the players. Tried to find a formation with the players available. No guarantee the squad will gel this year either. Hopefully we are going for effort, spirit etc over technical abil...

Vision
Mentions Bond's injury but nothing about Kuhl, Stacey or Fosu.

Shakeout has started. League 1 loans this year perhaps.

Re: PRE SEASON FRIENDLY AT BOREHAM WOOD

Sounds like Stam and the management team got what they wanted from the game. i.e. to put the playing style they wish to adopt into practice against real opposition. Early days still.

Opposition not the greatest. But how did the Reading passing and movement look. Quick and slick?

Re: CONFIMRED - Joseph Mendes

Well that's our strikers all now in place : Kermorgant Rakels Mendes Samuel Be interesting to see how Stam uses them. Clues today with 3 of them perhaps....? There's a strike force that will have Championship defenders quaking in their boots. Don't recall last years big names living up to their rep...

Re: Ins and outs so far

Dickie had a good 45 minute debut away at Blackburn in the last game of the season playing at right back. Possible stand in cover. Saw him play a few times for U18s a few years back. Looked decent. If you could imagine Pearce with the ability to run and also to pass. so nothing like Pearce then? Lo...

Expect attendances to be low and the concept dropped. I'll vote with my wallet for one.

Re: Tshibola to leave?

£5 million for a player with potential. That's a good deal. Hopefully the deal will also include further bonuses if certain criteria is met. It's a fair chunk of money for someone who hasn't played a lot of first team football. Good deal? Not so sure selling your best youngsters is a good deal unle...

Re: Thais OUT!!!!!!!!

So they've hardly backed Stam so far. Going for rubbish cheapos and freebies with looking like he won't be given money for a goalscorer. I'm getting really teed off with them now. Why did they even buy the club in the first place? Stam appears to have brought in exactly what we were missing last se...

It's starting to look like the Thais were not that genuine about playing our young players.

RFC took a punt that hasn't paid off. No big deal. If there's another academy prospect on the way through.

- Al Habsi - Gunts- -Cooper -McShane -Orbita - Williams - Tish - Barrett (asuming Norwood goes) - McCleary - Samuels - Fosu Tish dropping back when gunter and orbita go up Barrett on last seasons showing. Needs time out on loan at league 2 level. Far short of a 90 minute championship player.

Re: CONFIMRED - Jaap Stam

However given the investment and spiel coming out of the board an management this week it seems all at odds so does anyone know what actually is going on there and whether we do need to be worried or not. At a business level they appear to be looking for additional financial support. Even in the ti...

Re: CONFIMRED - Jaap Stam

Oh I do love the assumptions :D if the board keep quiet, they have zero pounds to spend. If they announce there was no money, they'd get ridiculed for it. If they announced they do have £X to spend, it wouldn't be the reading way  Nigel Howe's statement on behalf of the board is pretty explic...
