Re: Back from the game (LIVERPOOL)

Stonewall penalty for me. Benayoun took the man, and didn't get the ball. It doesn't matter how hard you kick someone (or if/how the fouled player falls over), if you don't get the ball it's a foul. People (particularly Beglin on the commentary team) seemed to be getting very muddled about the rule...

Re: BRIAN MCDERMOTT SIGN HIM UP

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01357/HestonBlumenthal_1357216c.jpg It's all very well but if he's made manager how is he going to balance that with running his world best restaurant and sorting out Little Chef? Nice observation and idea BTBB! if BM lacks anything at this time...

Re: BRIAN MCDERMOTT SIGN HIM UP

You slightly touched on it there brendy, apart from his appearance his philosophy is clearly very similar to Coppell's. Rodgers liked the slow, patient sideways passing. Coppell's team were in your face, high tempo, get the ball wide sides. Last night was back to those days. It doesn't have be 'we ...

Re: Steve Coppell: On a Wing and a Prayer

I read the Independent's review this morning and it really only goes to show what cocks we were to ever let this man go, he really is one in a million! :| What were we going to do - tie him up? With more appreciation, the resources to do what he wanted to do and an offer of salary he could not refu...

Re: Where's Madejski?

Focher Parky was on 30k a year at Charlton last season, with massive bonus' if he kept them up. As far as im aware from a very good friend of his, he has the same deal this season, but with promotion.

Do you really mean £30k?

The lack of ready-made / big name replacement certainly suggests that BR made some sort of threat which resulted with his departure

Re: I think Reading may be relegated this season.

I'm astounded that BR ever got sacked when I read some of the posts on here! Did I dream about how poor we were when we averaged one point per game, treated early season games as pre season, reduced fitness levels, signed players on permanent and loan contracts to warm benches, gave away comfortabl...

You're forgetting that he bet the house on getting Tommy Smith. But then Pompey stepped in ..... and of course TS is carrying Pompey to the dizzy heights of nowheresville! I can't believe, much less prove that he would or would not have made any significant difference to Reading. This is all still ...

Re: JOIN THE PROTEST - SACK THE BOARD

Lots of hysteria and wild claims to support arguments in opposite directions that are equally impossible to prove either way. Bottom line is that BR was perceived by the people who count, (his employers) as not being fit for purpose and they then took executive action to remedy the situation. This i...

Re: JOIN THE PROTEST - SACK THE BOARD

I don't really know or care about the vitriol between Royalee, Ideal and Ian Royal et al, but to suggest that BR wasn't so bad, ignores so many mistakes and unforced errors as to severely damage any of the salient points made in his defence. De facto he was not a brilliant manager, a brilliant manag...
