Re: FA Cup away day memories

Victor Meldrew Was the replay on a weekday afternoon because of the electricity strikes?

Indeed, it was. Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. I went to school along Tilehurst Road and instead of walking to Prospect Park for school footy, I sneaked into the Tilehurst End.

BFTG - Brentford

Well, that was a funny old game. First up, I think Brentford are probably the best passing side I've seen all season. Pinged the ball around very well - quick and sharp - and we matched them for the first half. Brentford used their very wide men, hugging the touchline, to give Yids and Omar a torrid...

NewCorkSeth Charlton.

Another one for the Addicks. Born in Gosport and grandad started taking me to Fratton Park, with the old man taking me to the Valley before we moved to the 'Ding when I was six.

50 years of pain later.....

Re: BFTT - QPR (A)

A well deserved point. Rino was immense breaking things up, getting his foot in and keeping the ball. Not pretty but very effective. Biggest plus of the night: Puscas and Baldock. At last we have a forward who knows where to make runs and can actually control the football. Full credit to Baldock. Hi...

Adam and Miazga - what's going on?

I saw a comment either on this thread or another but can't find it - be arsed to look - that there was a bit of needle between Adam and Miazga after the goal, and Yids and Brazilian chappy step in to keep the garrulous jock away.... Plain to see on the vid.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Two awful missed headers from PNE in, err, the first 20 minutes nd that should have been game over. Morrison my MotM. Joao being out is a blessing. His touch is almost as bad as Meite's. At last Puscas was getting some sort of service and made some great runs. He will come good. Him and Baldock on T...

Re: Next Manager

oxf*rd it. Bring in the legend that is Dylan Kerr. Respected manager with heaps of successful international experience - and a right Royal legend to boot. It's either the sentimentality of Parky, or Dylan Kerr My Lord, or Shooooot Murty ... or some nasty narcissist like Keane, IMO. But Hughton or Ai...

Re: Next Manager

Hughton head and shoulders above the rest for me but would also be very happy with Ainsworth who I have heard very good things about from another local manager. Not sure about anyone else on the list. Just please no more foreign managers. We desperately need a long term appointment who knows about ...

First time I've left a game early in 30 years.

Plastic! And you missed a goal which, according to Dim, "will look very good on the highlights reel at the end of the season."

Re: BFTG Swansea Away

Back from iFollow.... Well, that was a game of two halves. Hopefully, even Gomes can see now that Boye really isn't very good, and neither is Joao. The former thinks he's all flicks and tricks and he's not. The latter is just an ambling lump with a very poor first touch, can't hold the ball up or pi...

Re: BFT whatever the hell that was

I think the Blackburn colours were atrocious, grey with green socks, no excuses but might explain some of our passes straight to their players. Ha. I said this in the first minute to a fellow Nobber .... the kits were really quite confusing but that doesn't mitigate how utterly bereft and spineless...

While I fully support 'Twenty is plenty' I'm also not apologetic for being a complete hypocrite in so far as we should competely bleed dry all the sheep who follow Billy Big Bollocks clubs. Leeds, for example, should be charged 35 quid. They'll sell out their 2,400 or whatever they get - and still m...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a Simon Cox chip

So frustrating. Two blinding saves from the 'Boro keeper in the last 15 minutes, but still.... Boye - just not physical enough or clever enough. Spends most time on his arse after he's given up trying to beat the same player thrice. Benchwarmer at best. Joao - he's physical enough but just too slow ...

Disappointed to be missing this. I think it'll be a cracker. My Old Man was born in a house in Charlton Lane backing onto what was then the mahoosive Sam Bartram terrace. He was a lifelong Addick and one of the last days we had together, I drove him to see the Thames Barrage and then a tedious nil a...

Not sure how and why this may be relevant, but don't the Thais still own the hotel? There's a little sign on the wall as one comes out of the bogs at the bar in the hotel which says something like: "In deference to our Thai owners, we aim to offer authentic Thai cuisine in the restaurant ...&qu...

krapmle still sheffield wednesday at home. They are struggling against Rotherham tonight and we wouldn't mess about second time around. Then a nice juicy tie in the next round
