I hero worshipped Murray, but the halo slipped a little when I sort of got to know him. He was a regular at the Roebuck near Tilehurst station( KURTZ lol), going out with one of the barmaids. Seemed all too human.

Agreed. I know us oldies who saw him play many times get accused of romanticising, overrating him and failing to take account of the fact he was playing in a lower division.
