Re: Stewarding Pathetic again

I am pretty sure I saw someone wearing a Leeds shirt in the North Stand on Wednesday-anybody else spot him ? Do the stewards have the right to throw him out ? There were a few Leeds fans I work with who sat in the Upper West too. As long as they are behaving cannot see the problem... Lots of Royals...

Re: Football without offside

Hockey scrapped offside, and you can take free hits to yourself, and hits from the side. Both have really speeded up the game. No idea whether it would work in football but I suspect it would take some time for managers to work out ways of being creative. Players would never get the hang of it and ...

Re: Football without offside

Tokyo Sex Whale What about a rule where you can be offside for 10 seconds before you have to be onside again.

A bit like basketball where you're only allowed in that bit in front of the net for a short while at a time.

Can you imagine trying to manage and administer that?

Re: Scapegoat of the week Award thread

You have to be pretty crazy to eat yourself into a fat shape, in my opinion. There are hundreds of the obese lazy good for nothing cretins running around the Mad stad on match days, costing us a fortune in NHS Repair bills Sound like the perfect solution for them. If they were waddling around the M...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

The reason it is very muted at Man utd is they are watching a class team that play class football no argument with that going by the number of times they have been crowned champions and the quality players they have and have had This might be the worst sentence I've read on here for some time, whic...

Re: Stewarding Pathetic again

Not sure it's that secret - they sit in the control box and watch what happens. They aren't in the control box all the time. I know, only certain matches. Strangely, the bigger or more glamorous the opponent, the more people from SGSA and/or RBC tend to turn up to "monitor the stewarding"...

Re: Adkins has no plan?

Whilst we're off the subject of doom and gloom, despite not really having found our full, consistent, starting 11 or got properly going yet, and despite having only one player looking capable of getting over 10 goals, we're still picking up points at a rate that will see us firmly in the Play Offs ...

Re: CheLOLsea

As comebacks go that's incredibly weak. Touche. Don't be upset that the Mad Stad is such a soulless place. Touche???? Makes no sense in this context. What you don't get is that I know damn well that the MadStad is a soulless place - all football grounds are these days are, because the soul of footb...

Business idea of the year (as suggested on Twitter) : Setting up a stall outside Stamford Bridge before games selling bits of cardboard and marker pens.

Re: Record Watch 13/14

If Orient do manage to equal the 13, I'll take solace as probably being the only person on the planet to have watched at least one match from both Reading & Orient's runs. Given that Walsall and Brentford are involved in both records I doubt it Alex. Bollox! You're quite right! I need to reword...

Re: Record Watch 13/14

be realistic here though, its still very very unlikely. How many times in the history of the FL have teams racked up 7 wins on the bouce? Hundreds. How many have gone on to make it 14? Three, the last one being over 60 years ago, the one before that was over 100 years ago. Not going to happen. True...

Re: Remortgage the stadium!?

Nearly right. I don't think the land was leased for £1, it was actually sold, with the condition that it was decontaminated (at a cost of £6M, so effectively it was sold for £6,000,001). Plus there was the contribution to the A33. From the article on this : ( http://www.thetilehurstend.com/2011/04/0...

Re: BFTG - Leeds

Trouble is that other than those passes he has generally looked terrified of the football. I think being terrified of a football is perhaps a hindrance in a game involving a football. I can concur (if that helps) Maybe it's not the football he's scared off, but the potential reaction from the stand...

Re: Adkins has no plan?

What's the point of going up playing kick and rush football, having 14% possession and getting stuffed pretty much every week. May as well change the style of play now, because over recent years the sides that have played decent football tend to have held the place. Yes we should focus on getting o...

Re: BFTG - Leeds

Cureton's Volley At least Akpan has shown flashes of brilliance in the Premier League. 2 contenders for 'pass of the season' 12/13 - one at Newcastle and then at home to Chelsea

But at least one of them was a complete mis-hit that happened to end up a brilliant pass - but much more by luck than judgement.
