Re: Summer Rebuild 2016/2017

So Ian is against there being options ? If a player is comfortable playing in several positions then why not use him as a utility player ? I wouldn't suggest using Rakells as a full back , that really would be a last resort. But Quinn can play there, it's an option rather than a solution but it's st...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by opening game optimism

We hold on... just. Sounds like thanks to Preston's utter mediocrity rather than our own skill. Should really have won that comfortably and had it put to bed in the first half. The risks of using the amateur hour that is Radio Berks for your insight..... Preston had a couple of late chances but fai...

Although the easy and obvious answer is that they both have a role.
Same as Coppell/ Hammond, probably same as a lot of clubs.

32 is barely the start of adulthood. If you want a flag, then get one and laugh in the face of anyone who tells you it's wrong.

Lescott had his chance a decade ago and blew it. We should not give him a second one.
I'd rather Jaap got his boots on....

Re: RUMOUR- Liam Moore

Points taken, I'll just pissed be pissed off if we miss out on signing a position needed and then reel out the same "we're happy with what we've got" bollocks. Agree, I think everyone sees the need for a player there. The difficulty will be getting the right player at the right price. Get...

Re: RUMOUR- Liam Moore

Fact is that we will probably miss out on our targets. We need a oxf*rd CB. Fact is we've got 8 of our targets ! Agree a centre back would be good though. But not at any price. We could bring Anton back for nothing.... I doubt many of them were first choice though. I doubt any club signs many of th...

Re: RUMOUR- Liam Moore

The club have been very open about our plan to operate in the free transfer market this summer. They've also made it clear budgets need to be cut and we need to trim the fat. The Coker offers, if true, were way off the mark; almost disrespectful. It seems for this window, when money is to swap hand...

Re: RUMOUR- Liam Moore

Someone will have to explain the 'typical tight selves' comment. Presumably it comes from the sort of person who only cares how much is paid for a player, not how good they are. I can never understand the sort of fan who wants his club to blow millions on a player rather than unearth good players fo...

Re: Solar Power at the Mad Stad

I believe that one of the owners is involved in producing solar panels and one of their intentions was to use the stadium as a showcase for his product. So if they haven't been installed yet them I'd guess they will be.

Re: Rumour - Norwood to Brighton

£1.5 million would be a crazy price, and it's hard to see how Joey would be any sort of replacement.
A midfield of Evans/Quinn/Williams would sweat buckets but lack much finesse.
Would not see a move to Brighton as a great one for Norwood and would hope for his sake better opportunities appear.

Why would not being offered odds make you think players will leave ?
Might it just mean it's not a market anyone is interested in ?
I doubt they would give me odds on becoming the next Leeds manager....

Re: How much is it costing you to get to Reading games (H)?

If I drive it's probably less than £1, if I cycle it's nothing.
Don't buy a programme or food/drink and don't buy a ticket as I stand outside and just listen to the roar of the crowd.
Frankly it's cheaper than staying at home.....

CountryRoyal We might as well not play with a striker seeing's how they never get any service anyway.

We've kind of addressed that over the summer ! Expect Beerens and Swift to create much more.

Impossible to judge not having seen half the squad play a meaningful game ! Can't see us playing a bizarre formation. One at the back is just not going to work is it ? A '3' with two attacking full backs is not going to work.... A guess would be al Habsi Gunter McShane Moore Obita McLeary Norwood Ev...
