Re: RUMOUR - Matt Mills

Mills was, and still is, a 'form player' due to the risk-taking style he plays and will, in all likelihood, once agin become a good player. Not only this, he was considered a good enough bloke to be made captain at the last 3 clubs he's played for despite his young age. He is of course still not wo...

Re: Mcdermott Signs New Contract

I'm not quite sure I buy the Club's official line on the events of the last few days in it's entirety. Listening to the interview Brian McDermott has with TalkSport it seems apparent that he has been through some decision making process. Just after the 4 minute mark he's asked about the problems AVB...

Re: Why do people go to games?

I understand that some people have a pessimistic outlook but these people are incredible. I've had to put up with whiners but these people are incredible. If there are howls because Reading aren't gven a free kick, they invariably say "that was a fair challange" if we have a player given ...

Re: Unhappy Chairman

That depends on your running costs, doesn't it? The Metro doesn't even charge for it's paper and makes a great profit. It's a free newspaper, they probably outsource the printing, and take advantage of the market where there's not enough demand compared to the supply. So they can print cheaply at p...

That depends on your running costs, doesn't it? The Metro doesn't even charge for it's paper and makes a great profit. The Metro is a publisher. It outsources the printing (Trinty, Watford I think). That's a totally different ball game although even newspaper publishing is being hit by the perfect ...

Re: Unhappy Chairman

He told workers that a pay cut of "more than 10% but not more than 20%" would be required. Would be interesting to see how some of these badge kissing, "love the club" footballers would react in a similar position. Like those badge kissing "love the club" footballers, ...

Re: Old Reading Footage on VHS/film

Has anyone got any footage of Reading v Arsenal, Feb 1972 in the 4th round of the FA cup?? It was on the Big Match the following day and I've seen clips shown on the box occasionally. It's the first game I can vividly remember going to.

Re: Reading v West Ham Saturday

No Fixed Abode Alot of their lads were in The George Hotel before the game. Got speaking to a couple of them and they said they phoned the Reading Lads, but they didn't want to know about 'aving a row.

Re: Back from the game - West Ham

This was typical of our home games with West Ham really. Once again they turned up full of usual arrogance, played appalingly, behaved worse and their fans - all mouth for the first hour - left in a strop at 2-0. F*ck 'em; morally and financially bankrupt club with a nasty, violent fanbase. West Ha...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

man city record losses of £194.9m for the last financial year. takes a lot of money to win an fa cup these days. It's repulsive. You could change the world with that money. Building a school in Africa costs £25k, I know this because I got in touch with a charity with regards to funding one. That's ...

Ian Royal Dislike Swindon the most, bit of a soft spot for Oxford. Aldershot are more like an unimportant joke than a rival to me.

Re: Celebrations ruined

But there are loads of Reading Fans who value something to moan about. For them Saturday and previous matches are great occasions. That's all part of the masochistic tendency of the long-suffering lower division football supporter. There's as much warmth recalling some of the dross with had to endu...

Re: Celebrations ruined

TBF Reading ruined my wedding day so I know how the old chap feels. I hadn't missed an away game in something like three years. The day I miss one is the very day they choose to win at Manchester City for the first time in the club's history and I'm not there. Put a proper spoiler on the celebration...

Re: Back from the game - Hull (A)

My first away-day in over four year the plastic that I am these days. Firstly, the goal. I'm in a minority I know but I thought at the time he glanced up and and was aiming for the far top corner of the net. Bloody good strike if so but it's a shame he wasn't hobbling around on one leg by that stage...
