Re: England Squad

Milner is underrated, he's the Owen Hargreaves of the squad. He's there to provide cover across the whole midfield and as an emergency fullback if required. Barkley, Lallana, Ox and Townsend are the ones competing with Sterling for a place. Don't think Sterling has done anything this season to sugg...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Of course you can not count Dempsey and Holtby, as the original point made was about Fulham dont deserve to be where they are as they have quality players. I just looked up and saw he'd only played a handful of games. Thought he'd been there since the summer but then again MLS only finishes in autu...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Half the team? Where are you getting that? Berbatov - quality but gone. Bent - quality, but not playing well. Sidwell - in form. Stekelenburg - Injured for long periods Hangeland - good player. So it makes plenty of sense as to why they are where they are, as they dont have any real quality... Just...

Re: England Squad

It's been a while but my understanding is that they need to cover their arses over noise, safety and crowd control. But any time a pub extends its opening hours, it's either in the license or its an application like described. What the government have done is said you have to play by the rules that ...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Parker and Dempsey were pretty decent within the last few years but I'll be honest, I didn't really follow non-RFC football much last season. I rather rate Holtby so he's a big plus if they can get him gelling quickly. EDIT- equally Berbatov has only just left so you'd have to consider him for the f...

Re: ArsenaLOL

Kallstrom out for 6 weeks with a back injury lol Papers are saying Arsenal are trying to nullify the contract and send him back. Wenger said in a press conference that the other club will pay Kallstrom's wages while he's out as he was injured at the time of the deal. Which makes a little more sense.

Re: Weekend games 01/02

Andy Carroll sent off for being Andy Carroll. It'll be rescinded because everything looks innocuous in slow motion, but at full speed it was a bit less clear cut. I actually think everything looks far worse in slow motion and refs get slated for things that don't look half as bad in real time getti...

Re: Top 5 most hated ex-Royals - Sponsored by Big Foot

Joey Beuchamp? That was him, signed for West Sham, did not like the traveling, had to be sold straight away, went to Swindon and the ended up back at the Pox. For the above reasons, he could be my most hated player of all time, ticks most of the right boxes. Didn't David Unsworth leave Everton for ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Cardiff selling Cornelius back to Copenhagen for 3mil, 7 months after signing him for 7.5mil. One PL start, no goals. FaiLOL/ I'm always a bit torn on these as they could well be shite but from a quick look he's been struggling with a niggling injury and also he's 20. There's many, many reasons why...

Re: The Backpass

That rule did used to do my nut though - the keeper would get the ball, drop it at his feet, then pick it up again, roll it to a defender, who kicked it back repeat..... Was going to ask if that was my mind playing tricks on me. Thart article talks about a pass back to the keeper then a drop-kick u...

Re: Stephen Hunt - he was a great servant to the club during the 106 season, had a decent couple of spells in the side when we were in the PL and was then unplayable for the first half of 08/09. Shame he did that interview on Soccer AM at Xmas 2008 and then spent the 2nd half of the season not tryi...

Emerse Fae - never played in a RFC win

John Oster - utterly irrational but the guy was a flake
