Re: Adam Reach

This one seems dead in the water to me, nothing moving on either side. Luke Garbutt hasn't been given a number by Everton. The left back that kept Obita on the bench (most of the time) in the England U21 set up. If we could get him it would also free up Obita to play further forward, which probably ...

Does this make you feel like poor relations? This and Fulham and Bristol City splashing cash bidding for Gayle, and Burnley buying Gray. The Sheffield Star are reporting that Sheffield Wednesday have held talks with Norwich City striker Gary Hooper over a season-long loan deal. It has been suggeste...

Re: SPECULATION - Luke Garbutt

Really good left back, kept Obita out of the U21's last year and made him look second rate when playing for them. Very surprised about loaning him, although Galloway was preferred to him for the last few games at the end of last season and the Everton U21 left back Antonee Robinson went on tour to S...

Re: Nigel Howe

Howe is the nephew of former England and Arsenal coach Don Howe.

Don Howe was born in Wolverhampton, played for West Brom, Arsenal and was capped 23 times for England.

It could be Nigel's family came from the same area, possibly a reason for his supporting Wolves.

Re: Speculation- No.10 Signing

Jed Wallace today signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of £275,000. Another HobNob favoured possible signing, Jamie Ward seems to be Forest bound. I thought Mr Clarke was reported to want to get his business done early. Although I suppose the players mentioned here were all ones favoured dur...

Re: RUMOUR: Sean Morrison to Cardiff

Surely any club will not allow a player to speak to another club, unless they have already agreed that the player is available and any fee that might be involved, has also already been agreed. Just shows how dim footballers can be doesn't it. I'm sure Adkins can get an experienced replacement and pr...

Re: RUMOUR - Anton Ferdinand

Free agent? I thought he had previously signed for Police Utd.

So, has he or hasn't he signed?

Did he fail the medical?

Was our offer not enough?

Is he too good for us, in his opinion?

Does he prefer his hoops to be narrower?

Answers on a postcard please.

Re: Reading FC New Official Anthem (yes another thread!!)

I thought that 'Nothin's gonna stop us now' (by Starship) would have been a good one. Especially in our Champions of the Championship years of course. When I heard 'The Impossible Dream' at the start of this season, I must admit I thought there was something inevitable about it and so it proved, unf...

Re: Next Reading Manager

Poyet strikes me as being too much too fast like Brendan was. Would be willing to adapt to his style over time or try and bring it in straight away? Could be a good way of finding who in the Reading squad is fit to play in the Premier League, by finding out if they can play a passing game. Incident...

Re: Informing the club about a player

I once phoned the club one morning some years ago and asked to speak to Mick Gooding (when he was joint manager with Jimmy Quinn) as I wanted to recommend a player. The switchboard was a bit suspicious but took my number. I couldn't believe it when he actually phoned me back on my work number later ...
